Hello everyone! I found this site about a month or so ago as I started on my journey with agarwood oils and woods. I'm thankful for the resources here at Gaharu including educational YouTubes and being able to scroll through older threads to learn about various topics that pertain to oud. I'm on a learning path and enjoying it so far. With some advisement from a trusted old fragrance friend I have purchased a few good oils to start with. I also bought a few 1g sample size oils and a couple other bottles (based on a convergence of good reviews) from a few known vendors with good reputations. It's apparent to me that the top vendors/ distillers (and members here) have a great zeal for all things agarwood! Anyway, best new year wishes and blessings to all.

Thanks guys. I started about 6 weeks ago with Oud Extraordinaire from EO. It’s kind of sticky for an oil but overall it’s pleasant and at the price point maybe I had no right to expect a more robust aroma.
I had already purchase a few attars including a few that I enjoy from Rising Phoenix: Man musk, Rose Musk and Mughal Amber Musk (somewhat barny).
I’ve also frittered away some funds trying to source nice Sandalwood oil. I now have a few that are worthwhile including Santal Royale from EO. I have 2 sandalwoods coming from Feel Oud soon.
I was fortunate to be able to sell off quite a few lesser desired fragrances from my collection recently that provided me bundle of funds to
go hog wild oil purchases. Lol.
I was delighted with what I received (and spot on service) from Habzouds. I like Harba and love Zamrad. I purchased 1g size oils but recently bought more of Zamrad also also a few grams of agarwood for burning.
I’ll have more to discover this weekend as there’s a package from Agar Aura with Royal Lao, Kencana and sniffs of a few new oud oils.
A package from Ensar Oud was supposed to land today but more likely Monday now. Kinam Rouge, Monsieur Oud and Aroha Kyaku are in that package. Red Rose Attar is also supposed to arrive from EO Monday. Lastly, no shipping information from Feel Oud as expected but 777 and Nayouff were purchased. I had very helpful and excellent buying experiences with
I also purchased a lightly used 3g Borneo 50k from my buddy who suggested the EO Kinam Rouge and that should arrive this weekend. Lots of interesting swipes ahead. Lol. Sort of an instant but modest collection and I’m blessed to be able to have these oils to enjoy.

Hi Martin,
Welcome to the world of fragrances! Hope you get a chance to join us-if you haven't already- on our ensar oud morning oud series currently on Youtube. It's a combination of fun, fragrances, spiritual journeys and experiential knowledge. Look forward to hearing from you again!

Wooohoooo gonna be a party at martins. Where is home Martin and oooh leave the door open I’ll be right there.

Kidding aside, welcome and Enjoy the journey. Take your time and savor the ride. And remember you will have many revelations. Oils you loved you will find not interested in anymore. If you can, keep them. Don’t sell. You will likely change your mind again and would have wished you still have them. Vice versus too. Oils you don’t like now maybe your new favorite oils in future. Even ones you may have had an aversion too!!!

Great beginning, Martin!
Many people just start off with one or two samples, but you’re on the fast track to discovering what you like, and refining your tastes. Report back often, and let us know what you learn.

Hey Martin, welcome! You've jumped head first in like I did, that's the way! Yes, there are many regions and varieties of oud to get stuck into, and as Rasoul said, keep everything and revisit often because your experiences will compound and bring you newfound scents in what you have.
Have fun and I'd also recommend not going toooo crazy - I did this and now I am absolutely overloaded with full bottles and samples, from about 8-9 months' worth of being ouddicted :)

WELCOME BROTHER KING!

Blessed and grateful we get to share these journeys on this wonderful platform.

and you have me intrigued to check out other distillers. I am getting some samples from a gentlemen in the Uk, next week.

enjoy brother. especially as the seasons change you may notice different notes in the oud, climate and environment change it dramatically. most my old smells way better in Oregon than it does in the prairie lands of the midwest
