Dropping some lines here for a beautiful experience with this sample I have recieved from EO. I have had it in my bag for a couple weeks and recently felt called upon to dive in. Chiem Po Qi.

Wiff of the swiper, is piercing. With hints of clean saw dust, slight vanilla and creme sandlwood and a hint of leather and hay. It all brings me back to my home state of Wyoming and growing up in the midwestern cowboy lifestyle of America.

The scent itself uplifts me into happiness, yet spark clarity in my mind and alertness similar to walking through the pine wood wilderness of wyoming.

As I smell the swiping stick again without being on the skin, I am amazed to noticed there are notes that are so high pitched, I sense them enter my nose, but as some sounds are too light for human ears to hear, these scents move into the ethers, leaving me free from their present fragrance yet enamore my mind and heart with a spirit that is lifted, refined and clear.

I even notice a very very very slight fruitiness in the middle that reminds me of Kusuma Combodia. This is all around a beautiful oil. Giving thanks for this blessing my day, as my facial hair is now oiled up and blessing me as moments move into the next.

welcome to the forum @Heartistry and glad to be reading your impressions.

i have been having a heck of ride with this one too. those who know me, no that cambodi and crassna oils in general are toward the bottom of my list of areas i enjoy, except some rare vietnamese crassna. i still maintain that the old nha trangs of the world were not crassna at all. sinesis or some other mutation unique to that area... anyways perhaps @Ensar Oud and team will chime in.

back to the oil,... the opening is sobering for me. is uplifting and alterts the wearer. the opening while not round, is far rounder and more approachable and "pretty" than many many oils esp of this area made from other artisans. i am not saying good or bad. sometimes the mood wants a piercing top at its finest: comes to mind purpke kinam, sultan beyazit, sultan suleyman, suriranka senkoh, agar aura royal sumatra and pretty much any incese grade and better source material from agaraura...

while other times the mind and heart want a completely rounded out oil to a point that there is virtually no top note. base and heart yanked to the top: oud sultani. the original. and other times even more base and even rounder: oud ahmad.

and then is the area I hang out in the most: balanced oils. neither nor. in the middle and Chiem po is placed here.

back to the oil. yes, those Sesq terpenes are indeed a vibration in oils like this and alike. enters the nose but instead of smelled, it is felt. its textural. tactile...

what other oils do you have in your stash these days? newish to oud? so many questions. lol... excited

@Rasoul S It is good to hear your feed back on this. You have some beautiful in depth experience it sounds. And I feel even more blessed to have a sample of Chiem Po. All though alot of the oud experience is subjective. There still seems to be revealing to me a keen understanding of quality and depth of oil that one is gifted through experience, whether the actual scent is preferred. I am excited to be learning this discernment.

I am new to oud. All though my spirit and DNA feels like it is a reuniting.
I have had quite the journey and rapid growth and education with it in a short time. Purchasing kusuma, zaza zen. Oud Yoquob, Oud extraordinaire. Recieving Samples of Auroa Kyaku, Chiem Po and I believe Port archie; All from EO. Also bought ten grams of Ensar oud Resin. And Port Moresby Privee wood chips, in which I have kept some as wood, I have tinctured a small amount and used a little bit to make a crystalized absolute.

The resin I have tinctured and started using as a fixative in my frsgrances. also diluted 1ml ofvresin into a little 200 proof organic alchohol as a swiping fragrance. I love that Cambodian resin.

In the the last 4 half months i have recieved all of this and genuinely have fallen in love with the agarwood tree. Oud, wood chips, the many cultures I am learning have used, loved and cherished oud. And I browse often this forum just reading reading and reading. Looking up oils on the web and seeing all that are out there and imagining what they will be like to connect with. Especially this kinam and kyra I hear about. I had a abundant blessed fall season which allowed me to make the purchases I have. And now have incentive to keep working and praying for abundance and relationships to connect more with this wonderful anointing tree and way of life.

My next purchase I think will be, Chugako Jinko from ensar. And am looking for other trusted distillers that may have something to explore. In recommendations?
But over all, I really respect, feel, see, and relate with Ensar's art, heart and the Teams mission.

What's your favorite oil? And if I may ask, what do you feel oud has brought into your life experience?

Completely off topic, as I haven't tried chiem yet, although hopefully very soon. How is port archie? I've had that one in and out of my cart for a few weeks now.

All good brother. here now, flowing with it.

I personally didn't get much of a experience with it, do to me being called intuitively pass the sample onto a brother.

If I remember from my experience though it was of leather, a deeper fragrance.

Wish I could give you more on that one, not much I can gather from my memory at the moment. @Brandon94

in someway like yourself, oud completes me. my job is already done with my nose: i work at multi capacity in the world of wine, but also regularly do coffee cupping, tea tasting, etc. oud helps with being present and sharpen one's skills. it teaches about beauty and appreciation of it. it is a mind and body exercise.

no such thing as favorite, more likes favortieS. also i eat and drink very seasonally and i also tend to wear oud seasonally too. at this time i cant get enough of oils like purple kinam, oud ahmad, tigerwood royale, malaya, cintaku, hulubalang... my green oils will always be in the mix too: sutlan salahduin, beyazit, papuamantan...

kinam and kyara are not to be rushed. they will find their way to you when the time is right. they are more of a study in very fine nuances. i have seen sultan or senkoh oils wow more people than kinam/kyara oriscent oils for the latter group it is about less is more and that certain quality in an oil that cant be sniffed out, but rather felt! direct wood experience and then studying incense is a must in gaining enough experience to truly appreciate the gift of Kinam/Kyara.

@Rasoul S . To me as well, there is no full on favorite. As I explore my collection more and more, and work on perfume more and more, I deepen my appreciation for each fragrance, scent, chord as each day and or moments past inviting a familiar or new relationship with the oils. Some days the Oud Yoqoub smells totally different than other days. As every other oil I have, depending on especially the environment, building, and or region of outdoor environment I swipe in.

Right now Oud extraordinaire is blessing me so much as I am in Oklahoma for these next couple weeks. Here, with my sister and my nieces It blesses me with tart cherry, and deep redwood scent, plum, cinnamon, and medicinal sharpness. It is a very special oil to me.

Back in colorado it was really pine like.

I also swiped my sister with kusuma and myself. In that revealing totally different reactions from the oud. My sisters brought out animalics immediately, strong horse manure and hay scents. She was way surprised, because she smelled only fruit on the swiper before it met her skin. I held fast and invited her to give it time. And she enjoyed experiencing how it changed. Eventually settling with combodi fruit notes. Upon myself, I never have gotten animalics from Kusuma touching my skin. It went fruit, light white wood, with subtle musk.

Another interesting thing, Is observing cats and oud. I have has my mother's cat over a Christmas stay, smell, rub up on and even lick the spots where I applied oud extrodinare.

Artisinal Oud is a profound authentic love in my life. As it has been gifted into my human experience, I have faith kyra/kinam will, if It is needed and I am so ever blessed to be anointed with its unique and rare medicinal beauty, arrive to my heart and nose.

I just got myself a sample of Oud Extraordinare in my first order from Ensar Oud, but I didn’t try it yet. I am very excited to try it. Your description just moved it to the front of the line for tonight!
