SOTD is Laos 4K from Agar Aura

Lovely oil. This is my first one from Laos. Contrary to the popular belief, this is very clean.
Starts off with green hyacinth, then gives off this old dusty library, earthy vibe. Settles down to a sweet, woody vanilla with a hint of spice.
Interesting oil.
How does this differ to kham lao from AA? Did you try that one?

Yes sir. In fact, that's the one I am wearing right now.

I find these two oils quite different.
Kham Lao does not have that sharp green opening notes of LAOS 4K rather it has some sharp toluene like vibes.
Dry down is what I adore about Kham Lao. Sweet, woody, milky and a faint incense as compared to completely gourmand dry down on 4K.

I have Oud Royale lined up for tomorrow. I want to give it a full wearing and hopefully make up my mind to get a bottle.;)
I need to choose between Oud Royale 2004 and Irian Erang. Hard Choice
Btw my wife has started calling us all Oud Junkies!

We are all addicts lol

Tonight my rotation brought me back to one of the oils closest to my heart, Hainan ‘05.

Yes, I actually have a carefully crafted rotation list on my phone to keep me from using any oils more quickly than I want to, and also keep the similar profile/region oils a little separated in my use. OCD I know. Takes me about 2 1/2 months to do the whole rotation and I allow myself 2-3 from the oils on the list per weekend. I’m unflinchingly rigid when it comes to not using any oils out of order lol, except for the last 10 nights of Ramadan when anything goes. Last 10 this year I unleashed a batting order that would have made the 1927 Yankees look like a minor league squad, including my newly acquired at the time Oud Royale No. 1, Oud Sultani ‘01, Kannan Koh and Oud Ahmad. In between, if I’ve used my alloted max of 3 oils per weekend, I fill in the needed gaps with my “workhorse” oils, ones I don’t mind using up a little faster although I do love them, like People’s Pursat, Port Jaya v1, recently Oud Mostafa, but that’s going to gain enough status in my mind to warrant a rotation slot.

Anyway, cold California night, but quiet and peaceful, and nothing could have complemented some worship more beautifully. If your use of oils is primarily a supplement to spiritual times like mine, it just doesn’t get any more centering, grounding, peaceful, calming than Hainan.

I haven’t had a chance to swipe the Oud Yusuf in pure oil form. So, I can not really draw any parallels between my spray bottle and the oil version. I would be more than happy if somebody could share a bit with me.;)

Coming to the fragrance:
I am very happy that people could still get their hands on this juice even after the Leather pouch version sold out. I think, more and more people should be able to sniff it. What an amazing scent. The presentation, the color of the juice and the smell, everything is quite satiating about this fragrance.

This is a compete fragrance. In my opinion, the heart of this fragrance lies in the balance that has been achieved here. The bitter and the sweet, the bright and the dark, the florals and the resins buttress each other, creating a delightful experience. It’s flamboyant and baroque but succeeds to be modest at the same time. Very far away from the land of young punks looking for panty droppers, this is the style statement of a romantic lover.

The hint of earthiness in the heart is balanced by faint powdery-ness from flowers. I believe slight green Jasmine and rose are playing the symphony here. A mild acrid-ness is well complemented by dried fruits. I picture florals and dried fruit leather with woody floral oud in the background. Does the base have a bit of civet? The base, what do I say about the base. Pure bliss. Gives me impressions of a dark burgundy or a Bordeaux. Ensar's signature is ubiquitous.

What an amazing fragrance! It smells natural. Off hand and effortless. But that does not mean it is a simple scent. I understand it has many many layers. A lot of hard work is evident from how all the notes play into each other. As some vice human said, “Balance isn’t something you achieve, ‘someday’”.

I am glad that I was online at the right time and clicked to buy it, right before it got sold out. Now, my EO2 leather pouch bottle has a new friend in my scent cabinet. Feel like, it was created with me in mind.

Kyara ltd centennial

This one makes a lot more sense now that I got a subitism and have been heating wood this way. This oil does exactly capture that elusive kynamic heated incense blast. Wearing it is like have a heater with you all day on your hand. The tiniest dab lasts all day and projects nicely.

****emerges from the darkness covered in Oud Yusuf and drooling over Borneo 2000******

The last couple months have been amazing, and although I was looking forward to Iris Ghalia, the surprise of Oud Yusuf was entirely welcomed.

As usual I'll save my thoughts until I hear others sharing theirs =)

@mikhalil sounds like a dream rotation!
What can you tell us about the Borneo 2000 Sidi??
