Chronicles of Assam Organic...

... meh, or something like that.

But I do want to talk about Assam Organic, so please allow me the following word vomit:

1) I feel like this oil has barely been mentioned, so I am here to change that because it is a powerfully enchanting oil. I thought I didn't care much for Hindis, yet I find myself drawn to it.

2) In my mind, it goes a little bit like this: If I were to open the Super Official Dictionary of Oud Oils, Assam Organic would be the definition under "Hindi." This will forever be the Hindi of reference to me.

3) Piercing bursts of hay and leather-in-the-sun with a deep resinous core that later gives way for a honeyed and sweet melody; All of the aforementioned is bound together by a conspicuous yet refined animalic/barnyard quality. Indulge in a swipe then go stand in the sun, your scent will be magnified tenfold.

4) Assam Organic is a bold, beautiful scent that is done so masterfully. Animalic/feral? Yes. But did I also wear it to the grocery store tonight? Of course. It's an oil with character, strength AND finesse. Who said you can't have both?

5) It is organic, so basically there is a lot of winning going on in all fronts. If there ever was a testament to the quality that organic Oud can yield, then AO is it.

6) I am doing cartwheels and somersaults because I just put in an order for a full bottle. My top secret informant (name rhymes with Moburn) tells me there are but a few of them left.

7) So yes, by all means, do consider this an unabashed commercial OR a sincere PSA. Whatever tickles your fancy. But I would be getting busy if I were you :)

You cannot go wrong with any year vintage of the gorgeous Assam Organic. In many ways the AO's are benchmark, prototype, archetypical Hindi Oudh oils.
I agree with him, the Assam Pearlganics are the phenotypical and genotypical Assamese Hindi oils.

If @kooolaid79 says it's one of his favorite Hindis, then I must be on the right track.... hehe.
There is one small problem though, on the AO being one of my favorites.
I only got 2 Hindis! One being the Holy Assam Kinam (my absolute favorite Hindi I have till date) and the other Assam Organic.
So technically speaking, yeah the AO is definitely of one my favorites right after the Assam Kinam. :D:cool::D:cool:

Speaking of Hindi Oils...Thanks @Ensar, thanks a lot for once again upsetting the apple cart. I've sampled Oud Zachariyya extensively in the recent past and today marks the arrival of my full bottle. I want to make my own oud/rose combo with a wee bit of Taifi Rose oil I have. I planned to take ~1gm of Zachariyya and mix it with 0.05-0.1gm of Taifi Rose but I can't do it. To mix an oil of this caliber is sacrilegious, treasonous. Oud Zachariyya stinks, I mean it stinks buddy, it absolutely reeks of sheer expansiveness, depth and beauty beyond words and surely beyond mixing.

Ahhh, there's the "Z" word again; I'm following it's trail....:) It's definitely on the hit list.
Actually, I decided to lay down after riyaaz with AO swiped inside my inner elbow, and am wearing it like an oxygen mask; so heavenly.
I do, @Ensar , also wish I could have experienced the 2007 version, but I'm really enjoying this.
I hope anyone sitting on the fence about trying an organic Hindi gets to try this!
And, great PSA @OudforLife ;)

Thanks for the idea Pearlito. I am going to offer my sample of Zachariyya to the Mukhallat King of Ta'ifi. We'll see just how good that combo can be:)

IMO Oud Zachariyya has the perfect characteristics and profile to make an oud-ccentric oud/rose mukhallat. It's full on barn and medicinal, and the barn is ultra smooth. The Taifi Rose is a small amount but way more than enough to mix with ~1gm of oud oil, it's a House of Misk oil, fruity, petal rose(like the rose note in Creed Windsor 2009) more so than a high pitched green rose(like the rose note in Domenico Caraceni 1913). I think it would make Zachariyya a tad more fruity in the top and mid notes. But hey, you go ahead and use yours my dear because I'm not using mine-as excellent as I believe this oud/rose combo will be, I know without doubt it won't be as good as Zach is neat. Facts.
I'm still struggling with how Sultan Pasha was able to use Oud Yunus in his rose-ccentric Ensar Rose mukhallat. I know exactly WHY he choose to use Yunus but how he sacrificed it to use in a mukhallat baffles me.
@kooolaid79 here's what Ensar said about it, I'll only add that it's no longer smoky and he said it five years ago so it's aged another five.
Zachariyya, on the other hand, is the ultimate classic Hindi. All notes of olive leaf are now gone, and all that remains is the smoky, dark and decadent, overwhelmingly powerful heart of an ultra fine aged Hindi, which is exactly what I was aiming to accomplish by aging it this long.

My Zachariyya plus HOM Ta'ifi was a failure. I just wasted my last 3 drops of Zach:confused:

But hear me out:oops:
The resulting blend is not bad at all, no synergy, but not bad. The problem is, when you're a Frag Head/Scent Junkie/Ouddict/Oudlover like me, you become too keen on the appreciation of wonderful scents, more so with the extra-good stuff. So, having known Zachariyya, and a quality Ward Ta'ifi, when I mix them together, my Olfactory Sense seeks them out "individually". Just like FO Rooh Al Hind, I could not accept the blend, I wanted to smell the wonderful Hindi by itself, and the Creamy Sandalwood by itself. As a matter of fact, I don't even like mixing my Ambergris with Sandalwood anymore. I just make an Ultra-Potent Tincture, then when I swipe it, I blow the alcohol away, and I'm left with a sheen of Ambergris Absolute on my skin, to sniff sniff and enjoy:rolleyes:

Shukran Akhi! I always appreciate your writings and answers. Maybe you should look into a starting a book or something "Oudh for dummies".
