Make sure you save some for aging, it is excellent now, but should be killer in a decade.

My Sotd...Sultan Afnan
Sometimes I feel badly when I buy gems from others, after those gems have been long since sold out. They’ll probably regret it. I know I had a few regrets.....my spare OM5, my only Koh Kong 76. But it’s a give and take. Finding some Sultan Mujeeb is just the most phenomenal addition to my collection. I think it’s my favorite oil of all time.

@saint458
CS & N76 sounds divine
Sultan Afnan ahhhh ... one I always regret about not buying more than one single bottle. Sadness with complexity.

CS & Nhek 1976 - Double punch strong elegant aristocratic tobacco madness ... of course with other notes dancing in background together.

Nha Trang. Oh boy. What can I say? This is not the bitter medicinal Vietnamese oud a la K1 or royal guallam. This leans more to the Kyara LTD side. Just a beautiful, pure, extremely introspective and meditative oil. And this is from just the first dab, 5 mins after opening the box. This is going to take multiple wearings to decode its secrets. For now, this is a less is more kind of experience. You cannot believe how beautiful it is given it minimalist style.
i am few more wears deeper but only marginally closer to decoding. it is in someways very true to taha's approach of gen 3 oils. i mean i happen to be a fortunate guy with few small nuggets of really old nha trang heartwood (some pieces looks like crayon and others more of a sugary formation and super brittle) and when heating the wood on low temp, the scent i get is very much what i pick up in this oil. more study time is needed but with base material and oil so rare and so expensive, it will take a long time to get a better read on it. i.e i have to work really hard in rationing my use.

tigerwood 95 today. one would think an oil this old is done with shape shifting and further evolution. nope. not true. my older vial vs new one shows remarkable differences. fresher vial that is gassed and has minimal air space shows intence chinese medicine and camphor, tiger balm note, where as the vial with no argon and more regular opening/wear is more rounded, more complex and at ease. i get more incensy notes, oakmoss (subtle) and overall a similar old antique/mahagony bookshelf kind of vibe. some hinoki wood and overall alpine feel. it is very comforting.

It has some astonishing 'unreal' 'otherworldly' notes which are truly unique & magically bright. A realm from another universe. Like some extremely beautiful unknown flowers but actually not flowers. There are some fragrant things in it from heaven. Unbelievable purity, depth & clarity. This type of oud are not for everyone. For those who smell from their souls. Nose cannot get those notes. An enlightenment through each time wear. It is indeed a spiritual type oud & very very different from anything else.

Do you get that intense bright green note after a few hours that I get?

I do. Opening is as if the zest of rarest citrus fruits were collected and codistilled. Then the oils go super bright laser focus piercing green. This stuff even if diluted at 5% strength will blow all citrusy commercial edc.

Blind oil wear tonight of ensar oil samples. 4 oils from stash of 28.

Worn blind and assessed over an hour before checking out the reveal.

1) Vietnamese. Hmmm actually malinau like. But more bitter than I remember borneo 50k to be. Drawing blank. Don’t know what this is but is awesome. I kept going back and forth between a few oils. Turned out it was royal guallam. Even when knowing what it is I still for the first time see some malinau like notes here. Subtle notes of malinau. Super oil. Beautiful bitter with mild spice and sweet pollens.

2) hindi. No doubt. Well actually some of that Chinese bitter medicine and root veg thing going on too. But so restrained and such integrated clean barn and medicine. Darn it. What is it? Assam 05? No. Is far smoother and never mistaken with Chinese. Hainan 05? No not can’t be. That kinamic edge not here. Plus it doesn’t really have a hindi vibe and this oil does. Yunnus 07? China sayang? Turned out to be yunnus. Interesting how it has Chinese elements.

3) sour cherries, some twang, mint cherry molasses pipe tobacco mixed with shisha tobacco. Some sweat and old leather. Aged but young. Assam organic? Zachariya? Khmer extreme? Turned out to be zachariyya. From what I remember there is less of that horse sweat and old leather and more sour red fruit.

4) green. Cardamom. Jungle. Rain water. Old old patchouli. Cooling tingle. Hmmm can’t be xll. Mellow and round. Sultani 1990? Probably not. This oil is more vibrant. Tw95? No I don’t think so. More sweetness here and more green but also less camphor. Green Papua? Yup. That’s the one. Another oil I think hits above its price point.

Btw people’s sultan is awesome. Hints of Yusuf and jsl meets Green Papua and that unique bitter blue green note if other sultan oils. Seriously good oil once again performing way above its weight.

XLNT Post!
Makes me want to do worm blind too:)

If it’s anything like Kanzen, it is going to fantastic. For some reason Taha kept this one a secret to me, but he would dispute this and say he forgot to mention it. :D
He was going to name it something else. He was going to have a very high end Cambodi oud named Kuzen but instead has a mid-range oil called Kuzen. There is no descriptor page for it that I know of, not even in his hidden pages. If you go to his website and type kuzen.html there is a descriptor of the high end oil but that is not what I have.

I wouldn’t call it mid range but rather up on the higher range. It truly is a unique Cambodian with links to Khmer special K.
