For me it's all about Mustapha No 7! For meditation I look for an oud that takes me on a journey, one that uplifts and abates the mind, while soothing the senses, and as it transitions from one phase to another it seems to deepen ones meditation, taking it along with its profile, from one phase to the next.

Obviously I'd let Nha Trang LTD take me for a journey any day, but I'm talking more for regular, everyday use =)

I also really enjoy Archinam for that. To me it can brighten the darkest of days as the ancient psychoactive properties of the ominous Shaman region are released like a genie from the bottle.

Like Green Papua, it has that psychoactive stimulus effect, Archinam teleports me to the heights of Puncak Jaya, I can feel my breath lengthen inhaling the pristine Kinamic air There's nothing floral about it, other than it opening your thousand-petal sahasrara to full bloom.

I find it grounding, so a generous swipe detoxes me from any negative charges from the day; the dense-jungle aura with pristine fougères, moistened peat, lichen and earthen green.

The boundless and infinite components become one, from the Kinamic peaks and endless blue skies of the mountains to the sweltering pulse of the jungle -Harmony...
If the meditation is scent meditation, as in using the focus of being present on staying with the oud, then yes I fully agree an oud like mustapha 7, Kinam Rouge... are terrific for that for their superior horizontal and vertical complexity. But otherwise for other types of meditation I find above oils distract.

Archinam is trrrific. More complex than gp. Yet somehow, Gp is still the one to dethrone though. For sake of all future oud lovers I am hoping there is a new batch of gp in the pipeline and awfully close to the previous batch.

EO naga3000 vs IO imperial naga vs AA lavanya

I like Nagaland oils quite a bit. All 3 of these oils have that red fruit molasses tobacco note. Lavanya driest, least sweet, bitter and quiet. Imperial has most barn but still a low barn oil. Touch of that sour pit fruit but more yellow in scent. Naga3000 most tea like. Most rounded and fullest. Red bush African tea with milk cinnamon sugar. I could have easily mistaken it for a Bhutan like muana royale or even nirvata. Not quite but close. Balsam and tree sap notes keeps the naga3k alive and hold it erect like a spine on a person. Lavanya has the bitterness to keep it erect. Imperial has that barn and beauty interplay.

Couldn´t resist to go through my to-keep-for-later stash and treat myself to a miniscule drop of Oud Royale II. Someone once wrote a review, saying that "(it contains) my soul in this little vial" - and I can not help but agree....
incredible. i have had a similar feeling with a few oils to date: PK, chugoku, Nha trang ltd, philipina 1, royal malinau...

SumbaWALLA Emerald Incense (rising phoenix)

comes on like sweet tea, green herbaceous hay, rose geranium, sour apple, and rock sugar riding high on an musky spicy incense rich base….

as the aromas dance and ascend into the atmosphere theres an elegant effortless transition into pure bubbling chips on a bed of rosewood and pink peppercorns. the sweetness that rides the aromas into the dry down is exquisite.

one of my favorite gyrinops…..

eid mubarak:)
