if the above resonates with you absolutely. only caution for you is i know you love the aged oils and well, this isnt one. it has plenty of those wonderful qualities younger oils have: more jumpy/bouncy playful vaporous top notes. perhaps at least a sample vial order or go bigger with intention of aging.
I sometimes purchase exclusively to diversify :) Will check this one out

SOTD:
Nearing the final drops of Archinam.
This is so perfectly beautiful. Just enough ethereal buzz to circumnavigate the orb of dense green and sweetness of this scent.
I politely insist that I be granted permission to purchase a tiny bit more.
(Sorry)
Canadians.
I have not made peace yet with the fact that Archinam is gone. I'm still hoping and praying and hoping that a magic supply will turn up one day. Love at first swipe.

Unexpectedly I've got coveted Archipelago second bottle from a forum buddy many days later after it's departure ... it's just a matter of good luck.

At London Oud Fest: Joy de Boche, Oud Shilbi, Sultan Salahuddin, Royal Imphal, Royal Buthan, Nha Trang LTD, an unrelased Maluku, EO No1, EO No2 ... overoudesed

EO No1: lighter, more diffusive, spicier (not heavy, bright / green spices) version of the Sultan Leather Attar.

EO No2: green top notes, jasmine heart and after an hour or so you get the animalic funky muskiness. Less woody version of Borneo Zen, more jasminy version of Sultan Musk Attar (I tried the first version only) and less ammonia more somehow more animalic in the dry down. Amazing.

The Maluku is on another level.

Thanks again @Ensar Musk and @~A Coburn for being generous and hospitable hosts

Kinamatan this evening - it is so deeply soul stirring; it has me contemplating whether man deserves to have such beauty (short answer: no).
Reminiscent of Archinam with added zing and healthy dose of incense.
Love.
i hear you. totally soul stiring. not a very complex oil, but wow wow wow does it ever elevate my mood each adn every time. the oak moss and fern dry down with that buzzing note is ultra satisfying.

Went with a true legend tonight for yoga practice:

EO kynam emerald. A Malay oil but one that is the closest thing I have yet to see to the already rightfully so legendary port moresbey.

Take PM, add a touch of saltier/sea spray note, more kinamic buzz, that Malay resin, cooling minty note and a phantom note of a fruit/floral/varnish muted walla at like 3-5% strength weaves in and out accentuating the oceanic salty notes. As great as this sounds I prefer PM opening only for the fact that is richer and rounder. The only thing in the opening here I am not in love with is the minty even a touch patchouli in the opening that is noticed time to time. The rest is as good if not superior to PM.

30-40 min later, this oil and PM (going off Emmett I haven’t done a side by side test) become the same. This goes on until dry down where there is a distinct shaved graphite (think pencil lead shaving minus the cedar). A note that I have noticed before on another oil or two but off the top of my head I don’t recall which. Either way, here, that graphite note is distinctly there and is awesome. Very awesome in fact. I am totally digging it.

To wind down after yoga/shower and get ready for bed:IO bahadur

It has been a while... bahadur has opened up considerably. Sweeter. Fruitier. Spicier. Louder. while maintaining that higher elevation, drier and more soaring note.

Lovely oil. It goes pretty much toe to toe with my other fav naga oil at the moment: naga3k an unreleased oil from Ensar.

My two week Oud fast was politely interrupted by @Rasoul S who today delivered a surprise drive-by swiping of Sultan Beyazit and espresso.
What huge cleansing rush of green and stone after a fortnight of fragrance-free fasting. That sweet dry-down; @bhanny , I can see why you thought this would give White Kinam a run for it’s money. I think I’m still gonna stick with the latter for my champion pick, however.

We are spoiled to be in present of so many outstanding oils. Each of which is enough to have a lifetime of happiness with. Mood changes. Today the opening of beyazit was the best I had experienced yet and one that trumps white kinam aka Borneo diesel. But the heart and drydown goes to white kinam. There is something very special about both sultan and oriscent oil drydown

PM was is and forever will be port moresbey. on of those oils that sun moon and stars lined up for. havent tried papuamantan although i am sure i will sooner than later and it reads like a dream oil.
Of course that’s what “PM” is! I have not tried it either, but seen lots of posts...Legendary sounds like...lol
I guess Papuamantan was on my mind. :D
