Rasoul - I was just in Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo - we flew into there a few weeks ago and then drove about 45 minutes north to a little surfing village called Playa Saladita.. Spent the week surfing and snorkeling and eating fish tacos and so forth - really nice place and an inexpensive vacation - our group rented a house on the beach for like $50 apiece per night, 2 people to a room.. That part of Mexico is sketchy at night though, definately don't want to be driving around on the highways after dark or in the little impoverished villages..

SydnorIII - the Chinese oils (in the style that Ensar does them anyhow) have really grown on me.. I started for me with Chinese Exclusive and now I've got a bevy of them from Ensar.. There's something about that orange tang quality.. My Hainan 2005 I'd say is in my top-5 oils ever, and age is doing wonderful things to it..

Today - Oud Mostafa VII - first experience. From the reviews I was expecting something more burly and challenging like a super barny Indian oil, but instead I find a smooth liqueur-esque experience that has those lovely notes similar to Chugoku Senkoh, Assamugo Senkoh, and Chuhoku Nya. There is some barn in there also but it's tamed by and synergized with those other notes.. This oil is a real treat, a lot going on, very delightful to enjoy now and am sure it will age into something even more marvelous..

Sounds like you’re living the good life brother...props!

Chinese are just hitting for me right now and I can’t wait to try the EO Hainan [emoji1317]

The Senkoh series sounds pretty damn good too!

Xue Jie today. A 2005 wild Lao distillation by JK. Starts off A fairly clean Hindi, but starts to show its Chinese DNA very fast [emoji16][emoji3590]

Oh yea man, Hainan 2005 is unreal - its got that orange animalic twang going and also a big bouquet of ripe fruit and kinamic undertones.. Great scent progression also with the kinamic aspect coming more to the foreground along with an ocean breeze type quality.. Epic epic oil.. Big happy sort of character to it with the notes really jumping out at you and easy to tell apart, vs the more insular, tight-knit quality of something like Chinese Exclusive or China Sayang..

Ensar's Raw Oud Resin - So, this is interesting stuff, just got it yesterday - smells A LOT like Cambodian oil called "Kyarazen 1985" that many of y'all newer members have likely not tried. Quick history lesson: this Kyarazen 1985 was the topic of much intrigue and controversy maybe 3 years ago, with some people saying that they thought it either wasn't pure oud or had been distilled in some unusual manner. It went out for lab testing to a member here who did not report publicly on his findings. Kyarazen 1985 was/is much loved by many here, commanded a very high price, and was/is only available via private sale (initially sourced from the one and only Kyarazen who got it from an agarwood collectors private stash). People noted that Kyarazen 1985 had a labdanum quality to it, with at least one experienced Gaharu member swearing it had labdanum in it..

So, now, here we have Ensar's Raw Oud Resin, made from Cambodian agarwood as well, that to my nose has a whole lot in common with Kyarazen 1985.. The mystery either deepens or gets closer to being solved :p.. Bear in mind however that my nose is not particularly refined in general - I can't pick out specific notes as many others can - would love to hear from someone else here who has both Kyarazen 1985 and Ensar's Oud Resin

Kyarazen 1985 contains no labdanum.

To date, no one has owned that mistake.

Also 1985 has no confirmed origin,
Kyarazen himself last guesstimated Kalimantan/Indonesia

Would love to hear what you think of Bliss du Boche!
What I get is a loud opening it isn't animalic but I do get a mild leather note (i think this is because of age) all notes in the opening is accentuated than normal Cambodi but later it settles well with all floral fruity woody notes reminiscent of a Cambodi Wild Oud...

In short: if you dont have a Wild Cambodi Oil this could be a good starting point but if u have then this could be avoided.

Thank you. This sounds like one I'd like to try.

That sounds like an excellent combo. I’m a fan of the EO1 parfum. I’ll have to latch on to the attar at some point. Have you tried the Sultan Red Rose attar? Great stuff.
Yeah the Attar is a concentrated version of EO1 you should definitely try that one ... I haven't tried Sultan Red Rose Attar .... but my favorite rose attars are Sultan Pasha Ensar Rose and Borneo Zen
