Eo Royal imphal at lunch time along woth OM5. Former has that muana note in spade. Similar to many bhutanese and also naga3k but to my nose more tea notes and honeybush. Gentle integrated barn for a 2012 oil. Delish. I love it.

Om5 is buttery, hay, tobacco, and other complex fermented notes. Not for me but I appreciate it and enjoy studying it and even wearing from time to time.

Night time was time to pull no stops and go big: one of the most legendary oils of all time and arguably finest green oil released to date: eo port Moresby.

Just perfect. The breeding is very evident. The balance, the togetherness, the harmony... drydown goes for ever too. Mighty mighty fine oil.

Syd, let's use the automobile analogy. Kayu Melayu is also still under development, more coming but it's an entry level oil. It's like the Toyota Yaris. You get the Toyota quality of build and badge but the vehicle is in a certain class level with other vehicles and is lacking in features compared to the Camry (Malaya) or the Lexus GX (Royal Maluku). Scent profile aside, there is a class (grade), price and quality gradient here. The grade/ quality difference between KM and Malaya I perceive to be greater than the difference between Malaya and Royal Maluku. When all is said and done and the 3 oils have integrated (again scent profile aside) RM should be superior to Malaya and vastly superior to KM. There's a video at AA blog of the RM incense grade woods being ground up for the soup pot. It sounds like Taha had a moment of madness and made a loony decision to sacrifice woods that had more value to be sold as heating woods than to be made into oil. The wood is reported to be from old growth Seram/ Ceram grandma trees. I was able to smell some of this heated wood and it appealed to me a lot.
I haven't been around oud oil for very long, but I realize already opportunities don't get much better than this to enjoy an oil of this caliber--unless the Aquilaria Beringan profile of this G3 (trying to stay true to heated wood aroma) doesn't appeal. I'll be dumbfounded if this oil is not a benchmark oil (to better understand grade/ quality) for me in the same way some of EO's oils are like Nha Trang, Purple Kinam and others for example. Don't give up on Kayu Melayu! Even if it doesn't turn into a beast, I like having some enjoyable lower cost swipes to enjoy and I suspect you and others might too.
Ensar has an oil from ceram by name of Oud Royale maluku. Cooked ala oriscent. Mighty fine oil and carries both the origin and the cook style perfectly. Almost like it was co distilled with some sick sick sick Vietnamese wood. There is a bitterness that keeps that orris butter and iris sweet note in check. ORM is a mighty oil that fans of the region and purple notes want to try. Unreleased and iirc a $3k or so tier oil.

Oh so I'm not the only one who gets tea notes with some Indian origin oils ... I started to feel I have a defective nose

Tinsukia by IO today. I love a “different” Hindi [emoji4]

My sample has been long gone but recall enjoying it. The hay. Toffee and caramel notes.
For a real different Hindi see if you can track down tahas nashila or Hindustan 1. If you haven’t tried them already...

Also chugoku naya or senkoh are about as different as they get. Mind you there is a small-ish Chinese influence.

Lastly our mustafa7. Karbi anglong beast with a thousand colors on its tail. A marvel of an oil. I thoroughly enjoy studying it.

Sultan suleyman or “suley” as we call it up north.

I can’t even....What an oil. Love it. The sultan signature is on full display while that gorgeous Malay note and flashes of the legendary purple kinam weave in and out. Top to bottom. Bottom to top this is a to die for oil.
How would you describe the “Sultan signature” Rasoul? I love Suleyman too and have a few other EO Sultans recently purchased that I should get to know better soon.

Is hard to put to words but all sultan oils have that unique trait. That new guinean green blue sea spray intertwined with sweet sour fruit notes. But not like walla at all. Different. Hard to explain. But more importantly they all have this static buzz thing going on. Ahmet has the most while ABdus selam probably had the least. They are like a super charger for me. Instantly massively uplifting and energizing. They are delicious delicious oils while solid mind bends.

Wearing an oldie but a goodie. The tried and true. The ancient one. Tigerwood royale.

Grandmas basement filled with mahogany antique furniture. Some aged musk. Some pipe smoker halletosis. Sounds bizarre but I love it. A study oil. Personal oil. Not meant for others.

While wearing twr, I am thinking who is/has jumped on pinoy Ltd.? I sure want to. Bad. Alas Canadian dollar and economy is garbage and I have my eye on a couple of other oils and wood. Can’t have it all. It sure hope one of you guys do get it and tell us all about it.

Sunday Monday swipe EO - Suriranka Senkoh

Love it. When I was on the surirankah express train, I would ride it 24/7. Oddly enough I found the scent to be energizing during the day when I needed it to be so and calming and relaxing near bed time. Having said that bedtime oils are Vietnam and Hindi for me. Sultans pretty much exclusively for day time and being active. Oriscents just for mediation.
