What's your take on it? I've worn it once and recalled enjoying it. Care to refresh my memory? =)
It's an oud which an Arab would pay so much more for ... Arabs love the viscosity to be high ... the longetivity to be more ... the smell to be sweet ... it's an Oud I love wearing without actually looking for development of of it or searching for top, middle and dried downs ... or searching for nuances etc .... it's a type of Oud which actually made me fell in love with Oud in the first place...

So in short with Oud Extraordinaire you just wear it and lots of it and enjoy the Oud [emoji4]

EO Khmer Xtreme. Such profound and alluring animalic notes. I'm not sure whether the people around me agree, but my nose doesn't care.
A whirlwind of various leather/tannery notes. Biker jacket without the jacket!

Grand Slam.
Okay....you made me do it Michael.....
I’m going with Khmer Xtreme today also.
The dry down proves just how good a Cambodi oil this is;)

EO Encens Royale 1985 today. Boss oil. Literally. This oil commands respect. The big daddy of the oud world.

I should mention that I just put this one on at random. "Haven't worn this in awhile...", sort of moment. Turned out it fit very well in what should have been a significantly stressful work day. Almost a grandfather-like guide.
Bravo.

My love of Ensar Oud is evident. Most of my oils are from this producer/negociant. Frankly there is no oud scene for me or obsession without their oils. The sultans? My gawd. Some of the most thrilling moments of my fragrant life. The oriscent signature oils? Heck yeah. The senkoh oils while paying homage to Taha, are still carrying the depth and oomph of Ensar. And the oils selected by the man? Twr. Hainan 05. Encens 85. List goes on.

Yet I equally find myself drawn to the very best of agar aura oils. I go on kicks. I may not crave them for a couple of weeks or more and then booom. I don’t wana have anything on me but the big boy gen 3 oils. Their straightforward minimalism. Their true to style textbookness. The ethereal buzz... yum.

Yesterday was malaya. I had tears in my eyes of just how perfectly crystaline and pure the notes are and that oudy oid marrow underneath is what kept me coming back for more.

Today started with kiyosumi then my fave Vietnamese of his kenmei, then an oldie but a goodie: ambrosia (aceh) and back to malaya again and as I get ready to go out tonight it is royal maluku time. Mike drop. Holly molly. Cat got my tongue. Words don’t do this justice.

As I am contemplating this magical scent nose to wrist, I am thinking what I really really really Wana try is a sultan oil done with seram/ ceram wood from Ensar. That would have to be the one. Unicorn juice.

Stay fragrant friends.

Sultan salahudin
Initially I saw more similarities than dofferences between this oil and abdus selam. Albeit from get go salahduin was the superior oil imho. Soon after I started seeing more and more differences and now I have come to a point that while I see some similarities still, there are mostly differences that register. Love studying these oils. And their scent is to die for. In very short sum: abdus selam is sweeter, fruitier and touch more baking spice while salahudin is darker, greener, less sweet, less fruit and much more of that png character. The buzz and that tingle note is far greater too.
Green papua in a black tux really fits.

Morning Swipe: EO Borneo 3K V.3

First few swipes of this I wasn't amazed or wowed ... may be the expectations of being a B3K was greater than the actual performance.. now its been a month and this oil is still not up there with my Surriranka Senkoh or my Hainan 2005 or TWR. But I've started to enjoy it far more than what I did earlier. At the price point I think it's a great oil and I think itll only get better..

Seconded...to me, the new Borneo 3000 v3 is reminiscent of the old version...it has the same thereal top notes...but lacks in punch. I remember the Borneo 3000 v2 having a strong almost-barnyard aspect that this new oil lacks. Well, we all know good agarwood is hard to come nowadays so when we get a glimpse of the "good ol´days" oils we shoud count ourselves happy. "Oriscent" oils are no longer avaiilable because the wood is gone, and gone forever.

I can’t comment on the previous versions since I haven’t had them and I know what you gents mean. There is a certain something crude here and I wonder if it will change over time. Yet for the price and the ooomph if you are a malinau lover (I am), b3k fully deliver the goods. If you want pure refinement and an almost bitter Vietnamese and Borneo kinam vibe then cough up the dollars and try white kinam. It is a wow oil.

As for oriscent oils, Ensar has been busy with a few oriscent distillations lately. Will they be as legendary as old days? Tbd. If white kinam is an example of what comes with other younger oriscent oils, you will get no complaints from me.

Today was another day of love for agar aura oils.

Wore the soft, multi colored, delicious nashila. A very lovable Hindi.

Went back Hindustan 1 which to me along with shah jahan and chugoku senkoh remains in the top 3 hindi oils. What a blue beauty. Pasture on alpine country. I get Switzerland imagery, blue sky, rolling hills and gorgeous shaped fluffy white clouds slowly moving by. Yet there is also a small lake/pond smell chuck full of blue lotus. Lovely oil.

Last but not least kanzen. A very bitter green Vietnamese vibing cambodi. Love this oil. Green oolong tea notes dialed up big time with a drydown that is mostly capturing the scent of green oil kyara. Not the energy that the real thing emits and not as soul stirring, but hits home for me nonetheless.

It's been a long time since I've burnt anything, 2 and a half weeks now, but I just smelt some Hindi Oud burning in a local mosque out here in Abu Dhabi. Pulled out my vial of Ateeq and took a swipe. Man...
