Humidity can really do a number on absorbing the scent profiles... Have you tried applying it to what is aptly called in acupressure the "heaven rushing out" point at top of your sternum? Aka the jugular notch,

When I apply oud there and wear a normal collared shirt over, it slows down the release and prevents the heavenly scent from "rushing out." Pulse points beneath garments in warmer weather are a great way to increase longevity of an oud, although this method results in a more intimate experience.
Done I'll try this one out tomorrow.... always learning

Night Swipe - AA Pra Rachini

When you open the cap you know you are experiencing something special. Its unlike any Thai oil I've experienced and this will change the way I'll look at them from today. I get No fruity notes or typical sweetness which you associate with Thai oils. What you experience from the start to end is Oud!! I mean literally I experience Oudiness with blast of tea. My nose also picks up some Kinamic notes post 1 hour may be I'm wrong here. But the experience or you could say the ride is really great.

In short I think everyone should atleast sample this to get a different view on Thai oils.

Out of the 3 new oils (Hulubalang Kirana and Pra Rachini)I've tried this one is right up there for me and I'll surely be getting myself a bigger size of this one.

was craving a subtle, gentle, heart warming oil. was feeling nostalgic and vulnerable. i knew my choices would be mostly between bhutan oils, hindi and something really aged. i picked up a few different vials and bottles and while all pleasant, none "hit the spot", until i opened agar aura hindustan 1. instantly like a warm blanket on my back, my tension reduced, shoulders relaxed, heart warmed and mind relaxed.

the scent of high mountain pasture fields with few four-legged friends grazing about. its mid springtime. air crisp but some warmth felt. wildflowers mostly blue are everywhere. i am driving this countryside with the top down. rolling hills with hay and a pond or two with a small but noticeable blue lotus population are somewhere in the distant.

this is OUD to me. despite what many not seeing oils like this as oud, for me oud is not just a scent but one that has transporting qualities. it moves you. transports you. it alters your state of mind and acts like medicine. long live artisans who put out oils like this one. they deserve your and my support and i consider myself lucky to have come to meet their e-acquaintance.

later on in the day i re-tried a genie in a bottle oud: ensar's sultan suleyman, or Suley as we call it in these parts. show stopper oil. sweet sour narcotic woody and full of those purple kinam like fumes. love me this profile in malay oils. tremendous oil, soul-stirring and dizzying. i was working on writing a newsletter at work but words weren't coming to me. a swipe of this bad boy on and i was typing faster than my mind could keep up. i think i wrote about 8 pages worth of good stuff in 45 min or less. my mind is still racing. what an oil. going back to remnants of hindustan 1 was needed to keep me grounded.

enjoy your oud journey friends.

Evening swipe: EO Kyara Ketone. New to me, this is an otherworldly good oil. Features slightly bittersweet kinamic overtones with a hint of vanilla and an appealing oudiness without being base heavy. At first swipe I would have not been able to identify this oil as a Sri Lankan. I'm searching for parallels and I can only find an airy creamy vanillic note that is present to a much greater degree in AA Syed's Ceylon No. 1 of which I have a small swipe of on a nearby knuckle. Over the next week or so I'll do a side by side with Kyara Ketone and ORSR, Suriranka Senkoh and Sultan Zahi. I get the impression that unless really good wild agarwood is made available for distillation from a collection we aren't going to see many higher grade/ quality Sri Lankan oils in the future.

Last Night Swipe : AA - Royal Jerai

After sampling Hulubalang, Kirana and Pra Rachini it was time to bring out Royal Jerai. This came last, for it being an oil from an aged single tree my expectation from this was sky high.

So let's see how it plays, When you take a whiff from the vial it smells pretty similar to Malaya to me. First swipe of the oil it paints everything green on a white canvas sitting on a moist-aged wood stand. 20mins in, this changes to something unusual everything becomes minty it's not the etheral note I'm talking about more like eucalyptus mint. When you feel okay once this goes we get to the oudiness .. this oil surprises you by making you feel u bathed in cola.. this is my first experience with a cola note .. I guess this note could be an acquired taste in an Oud for a few, certainly it would be for me... Cola doesn't leave you for a good 2-3 hours with the power slowly diminishing and the oudiness coming to play ... oudiness gets overpowered by the cola note for my nose here ... I would wait on this one to settle for a few months being a fairly new oil I think there could be new facets seen by then...

Have you tried the 'Heaven Rushing Out" application point yet? How's the longevity with it?
I did, it's working great Adam really makes the scent more closer to you and the constant whiffs which come along as you move is a serious plus.

The only reason I'm blending lighter Cologne is to make it fresh.

I'm not giving up Oud for the summer thx to you [emoji4]

Great @Oud-Dan! For the fresh factor you could try layering an oud over Czar Ceylon, or your favorite Sri Lankan.

In minute quantities you may also be surprised by how fresh some Indian ouds, like Assam Organic, are with their citrus tones.

I'll surely will try that Adam.

But today the citrus, florals, ginger over Musk of JV Artisan is going so good with Hainan05's dry down ....

since all JV scents are skin scents this also could be a perfect blending substitute.

Today's drop of Czar Ceylon is very different, I'm getting a heavy chocolate toffee aroma....

Just after I rub it in the notes are earthen, dry sand mixed with mulch at the base of a sheep fescue.

As it blossoms the fresh aqua marine profile, yet still lingering beneath is a sweet aged castoreum note.

Seems like these days I can hardly mention an oil without going to take a swipe =)

What's next, Hainan 2005!?!? ....o_O brb.....

By the way if there are ever any requests I'd be happy to share my thoughts on those I have access to =)

I get that Castoreum note with Czar Ceylon,
lovely isn’t it.
The note was even more evident when I recently sniffed a chunk of Siberian Castoreum, then swiped Czar Ceylon.
