Today, I got caught-up in a CWE (Cambodi Whirlwind Experience). EO Oud Mostafa 4 on the left, AA Sokh Khmer on the right. Alternate sniffing applied. The effect cannot be duplicated in a single oil, and is "only possible" because of Artisanal distillation:):):)
Let's just say......BAMM!!!
Awesome experience:rolleyes:

Lavanya is the Oud de la matin. As i may have mentioned before, this is in my opinion a close cousin to Chugoku Senkoh. The main difference being the Chugoku's subtle yet magical tinges of tangy Chinese notes. The Lavanya is mostly in the 'clean' hindi style but boy is this a beauty. Again, like Chugoku, it is an oleoresin oil with zero accessory notes. Beautiful.

Sotd: Star Oud by Treasure Oud (30-40yrs Agallocha) got a sample with my Oud burner. A thick dark chocolate coffee tobacco opening with typical sweet floral honey amber drydown. The leather is beautiful as well. The oil is from Sylhet. Its dark thick. The coffee notes at the top is exceptional. Transitions are slow. Flow is smooth. Notes are rich and very traditional. Quite a surprise ! Has anyone tried anything from them ?

Darul Aman. This is such an interesting oil to experience. The kinam notes emerge very quickly, very reminiscent of the green kiara notes in VSK. This is competing with a bitter medicinal aura which is different than I ever experienced bedore. There are some sweet notes which emerge but these are not floral, fruity or jammy. The sweetness has a light golden quality scent wise. Syrupy is the best way I would describe it.
These notes continue to weave their magic. As the hours pass, the scent becomes distinctly darker and incensy. More of a burning incense of an extremely high quality and purity.

A rare oil with a rare profile. Definitely a prized possesion.

After reading Pearl's commentary on Meghalayan ouds, I'm going to bump my newly acquired sample to the front of the trial queue this eve, but first, I must admit I did thrice swipe Maroke Asgon this morning, and enjoyed it tremendously. Meeting another alumnus of the U of E meruake distillation program was my highly anticipated honour. As we all know, XLL is outstanding, and this recent graduate will no doubt also reach laureate status.
I think Doc K stated that this meruake is cleaner or fresher than XLL, and if so, I'd have to concur. It is grounding like XLL, but "greener" and less "dark and mysterious". Tranquility.

More on this later….

Green Papua today. Why is it gone :-(....? Marvellous Oil. Opens up with a green balsam rich, cool incensy followed by a mint tea pininess sharp and mentholic. On deep inhale it cools the whole nasal passage and numbs the brain. I get hints of herbs and spicy peaks of sandal all engulfed by the non-sweet honey oud waxiness. Keep sniffing and relaxing. Easy to wear and a great departure from the deep thick ouds. Collector's stuff. Full inhalations lead to a unique magic.

The Green Papua is truly a magnificent oil. The whole minty component you got is 100% accurate as you can be.
Br Nikhil, its still available on Ensar's website and it's not sold out yet even though I can't understand why not.

With all the Assam talks going on, I decided to go with my Assam Organic 2010 today for the noble day of Jummah/Friday.
The beautiful opening has a variety of notes starting from something citrus mixed with such a beautiful melodious barnyard note displaying the beauty of Hindi Oudh.
I keep saying this and will continue saying it. One cannot be a true lover of Oudh until he doesn't become familiar and befriend Hindi Oudhs. It's just not possible to love oudh without it.
It's like one of the main central pillars of a building. The structure is very flimsy without it. Your oudh world will be different with or without it!
