    Sandalwood Incense

I've honestly never found a sandalwood incense stick that was satisfactory, to me. I've smelled a few that were "interesting", but they were full with (probably synthetic) notes that didn't even remotely help it capture the essence of heating good sandalwood chips. I agree with Ensar, that...

WOW. That 2nd piece is stunning in both its resin-content and structure. Beautiful!

    Oudimentary

Very cool, masstika. I only have the first distillation of KSSS (love it), and have been wondering how the more recent one compares.

Thanks, man! It's sorta fun to see how stuff comes-out, and it makes me feel like nothing is wasted.

    What's on your burner today?

"Leftovers". Whenever I burn (non-bamboo-core) sticks of incense, I save the little end pieces that are left. When I get enough of them, I crush them and make a sort of blend, using various incenses that I think would work well together, and warm the mix on my heater. Some 'blends' work better...

Mother's Fragrance - Lakshmi Nagchampa It helps if you like Indian incense, but what sets this one apart (in my opinion) is that it doesn't smell typically 'Indian'. Though sandalwood, Golden Champa, rose and jasmine are mentioned in the description, what I get from it is a musty, almost...

Incidentally, KAKAO, I've compared the Tennendo directly to Minorien's frankincense sticks (burning one immediately after the other) twice, now. Minorien's sticks are more true to a frankincense resin vibe. They still feature other non-frank notes, of course, but they'll be less disappointing to...

A Tennendo Frankincense stick (which, to me, has notes of melon and Sweet Tarts candy). Oud Khidr swiped, and spinning this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZwbFJwUDZI

    What's on your burner today?

Symbiosis of sound and scent... As I take in the aroma of warmed palo santo chips with crushed myrrh, I listen to this, and I swear that each makes the other better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uyk11Vkxgzo

    Tibetan Incense

Oudiferous, When you receive your Holy Land; in addition to properly igniting the sticks, try crushing one and warming the powder on your electric heater. To me, the absence of the smoke (and not over-heating the incense) allows for many more subtle nuances of the blend to be enjoyed. Notes that...

Nice, masstika! That sounds like a great trio of goodies to burn. Enjoyed the footage, too. =) Oudiferous wrote: "Good choice for an LP, YouNight" Thanks, man. Seemed to fit the experience of burning a drab-looking substance (such that white ambergris is), and having the aura of an aromatic...

Cheers, masstika. That you dig that record and Meena... I guess I'm indirectly patting myself on the back by saying that you have good taste! :) The sitar tone is actually a tambura, which is very similar to a sitar, but it lacks frets and is played opened-stringed (not unlike Alice's harp)...

    What's on your burner today?

More important (to me) than the accompanying incense that I'm burning, is the fact that I'm happy about the very-nice original copy of this LP that I just received. Perfect sounds and vibes to go along with some nice incense, though: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFDiXszQeVY ...I'm burning a...

    Mission Borneo

Fantastic. Here's a to a wonderful trip and adventure, Ensar and Thomas! May it bear fruit in the form of beautiful oud(s) on this trip, and also a positive prospect for the future of Borneo harvesting/distilling.

Neat! I, too, play drums/percussion, and I like to wear oud when performing live, or at a recording session. Different ouds for different moods, of course, but I like that it gets me into a certain head-space.
