I get more Green Papua in Port Papua than in Salahuddin, but I totally get what you’re saying. Truly fantastic oil! SOTN is double whammy of musk. First layer: RPP 2013 Chinese musk tincture Second: RPP Tibetan musk maceration in Mysore

Something tells me you have a better shot of landing some Yunnan Exclusive if you privately inquire. China Sayang has been gone for a while. Alternatively, keep an eye out for it during Ramadan and/or Boxing Day sales.

From the current market? No, I do not see anything remotely similar to Hainan 05. If you liked Hainan 05, you will like Yunnan Exclusive (EO) if you can score some. It's less dainty than H05, and has a stronger boozy, salty, dirty opening. It's also aged 14 years, and it's great. My favorite...

Assam Organic 2007 And here I was thinking that the two AO 2010 were Beast Mode oils. They are, but AO 2007 is Beast Mode Extra :eek: I am truthfully speechless. Perhaps the additional 3 years of ageing has given AO 2007 an edge? Must acquire some AO 2005 to complete the series

When I bought a sample of Papuamantan before the holidays, our dearest Adam Coburn told me that Port Papua was the oft-overlooked Papuan release between the two. HE IS SOOO RIGHT. yes, all caps necessary. First swipe of Port Papua, I’m ALLLL in. Recipe on how to make Port Papua: take Green...

What to do with musk grains?

Great to hear. If I had to choose between the possibility of an oil going rancid on me versus some lingering alcohol notes, I'll take the latter (I think). Still in planning stage. I may have to consult with you in due time about where to acquire quality perfumer's alcohol I have been sniffing...

What to do with musk grains?

@Ensar Oud I see, thanks for that tid bit which I had not considered. How long would you say it takes to burn off any alcohol top notes? Do you recommend a spray bottle for ethanol tincture? Or just simply dab?

What to do with musk grains?

Bump :D Who has any experience with Moringa-Musk maceration? @Alkhadra @Oud Learner and anyone? @Oudamberlove I am discouraged about what I read online about the shelf life of Moringa (few sources saying about 2 years before going rancid). This does not seem suitable for a loooong term...

I have been Oudless for 3 weeks due to the busy holiday and travel season. Now back to the old grind... ready to swipe... but my body has other plans. I have fallen ill, and I find myself still Oudless. In my mind, however, I have swiped Yunnan Exclusive. Not in the mood for airy top notes...

Out of curiosity, which AO are you talking about @Micheal Smith ? I think most people refer to the most recent 2010 Meghalaya one. I have the 2010 North Assam, which I prefer. Meg has a rather strong tobacco note to it; North Assam much less so. I also find North Assam to be a tad more...

Welcome, good to have you here! Guess what? You're not alone with this issue. Two years in and I still find it exceedingly difficult to put into words what I smell. I've just learned to accept it and I simply share how I feel about an oil versus what I smell. I do not let not being able to write...
