Hindi Quademe - A smooth Indian

I would send Taha an email and ask about the raw materials and distillation technique. I do know Taha hasn't distilled this oil himself, but he bought it from another distiller. The only Hindi from Ensar I've tried is Assam Organic (and only a sample) and I hated it at first as it was my first...

Hindi Quademe - A smooth Indian

I recently got a package from Agar Aura with lots of samples of different ouds. The one that really piqued my interest was Hindi Quademe, a Manipour distillation from 2006. I'm not well versed in Hindis (or even oud in general) but I thought this was "the bomb". Very smooth, animalic but not...

Good choice, Thomas! Ali's Roadside Lozenges are a one-of-a-kind treat. Definitely one of my all-time favorites.

    Oud Parfums (ORISCENT)

Good to know things are happening on the parfum side of things. I'm curious, what ingredients does Jungle Kinam contains? I remember seeing Jungle Kinam on your site, but it sold out quickly.

    Rose

Thank you, Adam! Are they "clean" smelling? I mean no off-notes, just pure rosy goodness? I have a Turkish Rose Otto that while nice, has some off-notes like rubber, smoke etc.

    Rose

Have any of you tried Oudimentary's Rose Isparta or Rose al-Hindi? I would like to try a good, pure rose oil without any additives, If you have tried either (or both) I would be grateful to hear what you think about it/them.

    What's on your burner today?

Ahmir: As far as I know Katlyn at Mermade only has an "accord" (I'm assuming it's synthetic) in one of her incenses, which is called Bayadere. It's my understanding that if her incenses/perfumes contains an accord and not an essential oil she will state as such. She uses high quality resins...

Encens Imperial (new release from EnsarOud)

I'm also very curious to know what people think of this oil. I'm wondering if I should make this my first LTD oil, as I've only tried the Organic Ouds.

    Purple Dervish

Yaqoub is more "unique and complex", but I think I prefer Purple Dervish. I only have a sample size of Yaqoub, and I'm wearing some right now. I kind of percieve Oud Yaqoub as Oud Yusuf after dark. Deep musky florals, smoky woods and dark fruits, Yaqoub is beautiful for sure. Both are stunning.

    Purple Dervish

I'm surprised there isn't more discussion of this oil. It's so good, lots of resemblances to Oud Yusuf. Purple Dervish is more fruity versus the more floral Yusuf. I would also say PD has a stronger, and darker, wood note. I think everyone that loves Yusuf really needs to give PD a try, as I...

Heating some Styrax Benzoin prepared with tincture of Benzoin and Labdanum that I got from Katlyn. Really nice, sweet and mellow. Perfect for a cold winter night.

    What's on your burner today?

After burning a (very) small amount of Kyara Kokoh by Baieido today, I burned some Brunei Exquisite I realised that it has that same "Kyara note" I've picked up in Kyara Enju by Seijudo and in Kyara Kokoh today. At least what I assume is the "Kyara note", the note is strongest in Kyara Kokoh...

    Oud Parfums (ORISCENT)

Just got my bottle of Aoud Bleu from Ensar. If I understood correctly this is the forebear to Blue Kalbar. Words seems to escape me lately, but: It's very, very nice. Soft, floral, powdery and without any jarring notes whatsoever. Slightly animalic, but not in any way fecal, it makes me wonder...

Best Oud Wood you have ever burn

The best wood I've ever burned is Brunei Imperial from Ensar. I'm not good at notes, but it smells syrupy sweet, slightly floral, green but "damp", spicy and with the intoxicating "agarwood aroma" (you know what I mean?) being the most potent and refined of any other wood I've tried. The second...

    Sneak Preview: Oud Sultani

I think Oud Yusuf is unreal, and that's a reasonably priced organic oud. An oil that reminds me of so many earthly smells, yet is so different, so unearthly that I can't really describe it's scent. I would probably be over the moon with Sultani!

    Sneak Preview: Oud Sultani

Congratulations on your purchase! Please let the forum know what you think about it when you get it. It's way out of my price league, but it's fun to read what people think of it.

    What's on your burner today?

Burning "Hindi Assam Black" wood that I got as a sample from agarscents. It's nice, smells clean and pleasant, not much "wow-factor" though. Free wood is always a good thing, so I'm happy. Ensar: Those pictures are lovely. My wallet is trembling.

    What's on your burner today?

Have burned some slithers of Ensar's Brunei Imperia todayl, and it's the best wood I've ever burned. Granted, I haven't burned that much wood before, but this is just amazing. It's hard to explain the scent, but it smells "old", warm, wet and damp, with spicy and green overtones. Here is a picture:

    What's on your burner today?

How is it compared to Lamb's Breath, YouNight? I'm anxiously awaiting my shipment of Brunei Imperial chips from Ensar.

    What's on your burner today?

Again, I'm burning some Lamb's Breath. So soft and mellow, yet potent, it's almost hypnotic. I think it's my favorite incense blend. If I had an endless supply, I would burn this for weeks. Wondering how I can replace it when it's empty. I was very sad when I read that Simon is closing down...
