SwipeS is the way to go. If I'm wearing an oud properly i will use a good 4 full swipes - covering the back of each hand and them up the entirety of each arm. Heck, maybe even under my chin and then a swipe onto my fingertips to rub into my shirt. So yea maybe 6-7.... I have a ton of oil and...

    Oud as “Principle” Scent

Hi Adam, thanks for the reply. I don't think it's a case of plantation oils that are saturating the marketplace as I have tried many premium and mid-range (many from Ensar). For several months I did wear only oud oils and natural attars and didn't wear any EDT/EDP fragrances and became more...

    Oud as “Principle” Scent

I just like to smell it, not much more to say than that, really. When I read about you lot posting note breakdowns, mind buzz, this, that the other, I generally don't get any of that and am far more 'surface' in my enjoyment of it. Or maybe my sense of smell is just borked or something

    What's on your burner today?

Hey yes I burned a Honey Amber (using real ambergris...apparently) and it's a stunner! Very very very sticky, the recommend keeping the sticks in fridge or freezer to make them easier to take out of the packaging. I managed to strip some of the incense off the stick as I removed my first one...

    What's on your burner today?

Just burned a third of a 'Moonlight Jasmine' stick from Fred Soll. I bought a single sample stick and they burn for ages so no need to burn it all in one go! Think I will go burn some of Al Hashimi's Filipino wood now I've started burning wood in a more attentive way instead of just sticking it...

    What's on your burner today?

I have gone crazy buying incense lately, Japanese, Indian and Tibetan, oh my! Now, "Jinko Yomei" by Gyokushodo, first time burning :) Would like to try some of KZ's sticks

    New Noob!

Hey Martin, welcome! You've jumped head first in like I did, that's the way! Yes, there are many regions and varieties of oud to get stuck into, and as Rasoul said, keep everything and revisit often because your experiences will compound and bring you newfound scents in what you have. Have fun...

EO - Archinam. Rather sweet, am trying to think where it could be from. Feels like a Borneo but doesn't seem sweet enough (based on a very limited experience). Very pleasing oil for sure

    Ensar Oud: The Legends

Hey is this still planned to go ahead? I noticed a while ago that the "oud legends" page is now back-dated with many oils and previous URLs that redirected back to the homepage are now showing the oil information (which is really cool, I like to re-read the descriptions a while after buying)

Wow that sounds great, Larry. And I enjoyed the history, Ensar! Tonight I'm having a very late night (as in, I'm going to bed shortly) and am testing Qing by Rising Pheonix & Naga by Agarwood Assam. Unfortunately when I wake up these oils will be long gone as always happens when going to bed...

    EO No 1

Certainly, I will aim to do a "first impressions" video on youtube, a review may be some time off as I don't think 1 or 2 wearings can justify a review yet, need more experience and time with it :)
