I was fortunate to be able to try oils from 7 or 8 different vendors, and sample many of the oils discussed in the online forums. As the year winds down, I’m slowly compiling my list of memorable swipes from 2018. I’ll take the few remaining weeks to tweak this list as I continue swiping through the archives. There is at least one oil I’m waiting to open, and perhaps another few that may be released before the year concludes. And so, from the many oils I've tried this year, these were the ones I remember enjoying.

Man o man. What a year and what a privilege to have fellow oud buddies living in such close proximity. I look eagerly forward to your short list. Gonna be so hard to narrow down. Not one meh oil above.

Agreed. Great year for oud swipes. Quite the learning experience even if many of the oils experience feel beyond the curve. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the giant Royal Guallam swipe-and-go on Friday.

2019 will be another good one!

All terrific oils.
For me, while I find it impossible to divide quantify and tier, but will do for fun, the list is as followed:

Mid tier
Eo papuamnatan
IO Bahadur
Eo twr
Eo Naga3k
Aa keo
Eo Bhutan red
Aso rakhawah
Gun to head to pick one: bhutan red

Top tier:
Eo Sultan salahudin
IO Shah jahan
Ah Adan
Aa nashila
Gun to head to pick one: salahudin

God tier:
Aa Hindustan 1 (shah jahan makes it here and swaps spots with this oil)
Eo Both white kinam/Borneo diesel (toss up between them)
Eo Sultan suleyman
Gun to head to pick one: suleyman.

Note: I am leaving many oriscent oils out for they are like bring a bazooka to a gun fight: Nha Trang, Kyara Ltd 2.0, ORM, Royal G, Hailam Ltd....

Honestly though I consider myself fortunate and lucky to spend time with any of the above oils.

Although i came on the oud scene late in the year, i swiped out the old and swiped in the new with some out of this world scents! My New Year's resolution.........to keep on swiping and inhaling as many fragrances as possible to rise to new spiritual heights!

As 2018 was my first year in the realm of oud, the list is pretty long. I acquired oils from the Ensar camp mainly. I've enjoyed all their oils to a degree or much further. Only one of the EO oils I thoroughly disliked.

Here's one which I've been getting a ton of wear out of and is an amazing scent at the price point: EO People's Ceylon. Perfect chin swipe. Anytime. Any weather. All day.

I've also had a ton of sultan swipes from Rasoul. Too many for my newbie nose to comprehend, but very appreciative of the chances.

Originally I felt let down by some other vendors' oils, but I'm coming around to them more recently. Especially the likes of Agar Aura. The more I swipe them, the more I come to like or love them. Brilliant scents...quite literally. Brilliant.

I know exactly what you mean. There is a special place in my heart for my early day oils.
