A fasinating read.

I always wondered what variety of Oud did Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him and his companions burn and use. I always thought it was 'hindi' mixed with camphor. This article states that hundreds of years before that time Arab traders were trading up the Malabar coast and in Canton. This means that the must have known about combodi oud and possibly peninsular Malaysian oud too?

Thanks Ahmir for sharing a great article. I have read another article by the same person about Sidr Honey from Yemen and it also was very informative. Of course this was written 12 years ago and so many things have changed since then, especially the prizing.

@ Casablanca. Check the Aluwwah.com website. I have no experience with the honey, but have dealt with him in the past and never had an issue.
