Advice to my Haters

An old friend visited today, an esteemed customer from Jordan. He was in dismay and disarray over the “recent developments” he’d read somewhere on the net, and was keen to hear my take. I feel what I told him might be of interest to others, whether it be my ‘haters’ or my own children twenty years from now, so I thought I’d share some of what was said…

It may not be glaringly obvious when we sit on fine Italian couches and engage in polite conversation that this world we live in is cutthroat… We kill other beings in order to consume their flesh. Those beings in turn consumed other beings before being consumed by us. In a realm such as this, how can “oud wars” come as a shock? Ask anyone who’s ever succeeded at anything. The laws of dogs out to eat other dogs dictate that there’s a “King of Comedy” chasing after each and every one of them.

When reading any random “love rant” on the net, it’s important to grasp the author’s objective. You must look past the vitriol and screenshots and get to the bottom of what they’re out to accomplish. The one out to undermine my company has a very simple message for the world: “Allah Most High must have made a mistake when He granted success to Ensar Oud. EO is not deserving of that success. It should have been mine instead.” Nothing more, nothing less. It is called hasad in Arabic. We all know it, and can easily spot it for what it is: Envy. What else could motivate someone to email Kafkaesque to talk her out of reviewing my oils?

There are laws of physics and laws of metaphysics. The former can be broken, but the latter are God’s own writ:

“Allah loves for you, whenever you do anything, to perfect what you are doing.”
“We shall never bring to loss whosoever perfects what he does.”
“And whoever fears Allah, He makes for him a way out, and provides for him from whence he least expects it.”
“And whoever puts his trust in Allah, Allah suffices him.”
“And my success is through none other than Allah.”

How can anyone who lives with these precepts in mind be affected by what people write on the internet? Can anyone unwrite what Allah has written for one?

I would advise whoever wants to try their hand at business to keep those precepts in mind, and live and die by them. And I would advise them to be original. If it’s been done by someone before you, chances are you cannot outdo the one who had the idea to begin with. Can you outshine Edison? Outxerox Xerox?

I emailed and congratulated @Adam upon the launch of his website for its originality and not being yet another clone of my website. Successful business is about breaking new ground – not taking the words of someone and spitting them right back at them while calling them a liar.

Business acumen is no sin. If you plan to market anything, it behoves you to know a thing or two about marketing. The sin consists in not delivering.

Areej Le Doré is another brilliant example of originality and breaking new ground. I foresee enormous success for the line.

If someone has already succeeded at something and perfected it, there is generally room for only one more brand to compete. Number 3 is way off in the weeds. Number 4 farther afield. (These are laws that they teach cunning marketers at Distraction University.) This is why no one can outdistill @Taha, whether they put kinam in their oil or a wood that they died and went to Heaven to source.

The religion is sincere advice.

Ah Ensar, wise pontifications my friend. There is always someone who wants your success but the truth is that one cannot really build oneself up by bringing somebody else down. Someone wiser than me said resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. The superior man rejects either easy way out.

The best we can do is focus on our own efforts and stay true to what we are and to what got us to where we are. There is no true success without struggle, arduous work and many setbacks.

This is for Taha as well who exemplifies the very good side of the oud world as well.

I'd spent thousands of dollars buying 'oudh's from different mainstream commercial vendors. I was NOT satisfied.
After I met 'Artisanal'/'Natural' the whole scenario changed totally.
These caused my wallet almost empty _ but even though I'M SATISFIED.
My world, my life has been changed. Now I live with oud 24/7. Can't live without it.
All because of these Artisanal vendors _ preciously Ensar Oud.

* Jealousy from the very beginning of this world, remains _ from 'Azaazeel'(devil) himself.
You can do nothing with that. It will remain. But hate only brings more frustrations. Nothing more.
Haters can rather concentrate on their own job instead _ to enrich themselves & to develop their creations.
There are/were & will be Best of the Bests in every section. Hate cannot change that anyway.

@Ensar thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot to me.
We ask Almighty to guide us to what is best for both worlds.
If anyone ever played clean in this market, it is you. You deserve not only the success of Areej Le Doré, but also the deliverance from the swampland that comes with it.

When he finds himself in increasingly polluted waters, a marketer of insight creates a new niche for himself in bluer waters. He who suffers from incompetence, on the other hand, will only keep adding to the pollution.

I say this, of course, with the understanding that marketing is a good thing, and that a product which is respected enough to be well-marketed is generally respected enough to be well-made. If you believe marketing is immoral, you could be reading the wrong thread. :)

your products speak for themselves. whenever i get extra cash together for prefume i try to acquire an ensar original. sometimes privat if its sold out.
i have tried ouds from every vendor i could find and i rate ensars oud very high. even i tried to get vendors here to buy ensars oud for selling, without his knowledge. so one might say that i am a satisfied customer.
its not to take away anything from other vendors who have brilliant ouds for sale aswell. ensar has produced some of the best ouds there in market for oudlovers, he should be proud and thank Allah almighty for the honor.

If a person wants just one bottle of oud, just spin the roulette wheel, and give that a person a bottle from who-cares-where.

But if you want to have a collection of oud, then you'll discover, what I call the..."Satisfaction Index".
SI = O / SO
SI satisfaction index
O number of total oils purchased from vendor
SO number of satisfying oils purchased from vendor

A lower index number means a higher satisfaction.

*disclaimer:this equation applies only to collections. If you bought only one or two bottles from a vendor, this equation will be inaccurate

So if you don't see Ensar's trophy for the "Best Satisfaction Index Award", it's because he doesn't want to "Rest on his Laurels". Instead, you'll find him and Mr K at the pots, steadfast at cooking more delights. Oh, I forgot to mention....with a sachet of Kyara shavings in his pocket for the afternoon tea break:)

Operate in silence, let the oils make all the noise ;-). Allegations, accusations, jealousy, overconfidence, yes sirs are part of every man's success. One thing that matters most is the man's ability to create. When a man's ability is bigger than his achievements, it is a great sign. One does not need to answer to anyone nor to question them but themselves. On the path of achieving higher consciousness, one must let the ego go away first. If the tiger made noise like hyenas, it would lose its identity. Power to all.
