An Odd Little Incident.

I put a tiny dot of Yusuf on my philtrum yesterday. I floated around, happily experiencing its beauty with every drawing in of my breath. Then this being got into my lap and I smooched the top of her fuzzy little head.

Yes, my friends, I blessed my cat. And she still smells beautiful!

This works with other little ones as well!

@Steel Hyaena I love cats big and small, cats are highly revered in Islam as well. I once had a pussycat, she was a feral and after a while we became friends so I took her in, I named her Mu'izza which was said to be the favorite cat of the prophet Muhammad(Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salaam), she's been gone nearly six years and I still think about her at times. In Islam it is said that Muhammad(Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salaam) had returned home from the masjid one day and Mu'izza bowed to him so he promised her entry into paradise, as well as giving all cats the righting reflex, which is their ability to always land on all fours from a fall. In addition, one of Muhammad's(Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Salaam) companions was called Abu Hurayrah(Radhi Allahu Anhu) which means father of the kittens.

I did know that about kitties and Islam. I have two others, one of whom is a purebred Bengal, and the other, a huge black one. But Valeia... she is very special. The reason she got kissed with oudlips is she's the one I am most likely to be holding and cuddling. Of course... sometimes, cats are not all grace and style. Occasionally, I look under my laptop stand and see this:

this is adorable. my cat looooooooves oud. some other essential oils too but especially oud. he responds differently to different types. when I've got dr hindi on, he wants to sit in such a way that he can rest his chin in the crook of my elbow (one place where I annoint). AA ceylon 1 brings out the feisty kitten in him. if I want to wear this, I know he's going to bug me to play.

My cat also loves the smell of certain Ouds. He hates barnyard types but really enjoys brighter oils like Green Papua. I think he also likes menthol notes like the one in TW95.

As far as Oil goes, he also loves wood and often spends quite awhile just sniffing pieces and trying to gnaw at them -_-

He's spent quite a bit of time sniffing that piece of Burmese wood. I wonder what he smells in it.

It is observed that cats have irresistible pull for mysterious woody incense, especially 'sandal' 'sumbul-atteeb'. Whenever any of the mentioned wood chips were being crushed in a 'mattib' (clinic where herb-based medicines are prepared and recommended by a hakeem (doctor), cats got ecstatic. Even they started wallowing and somersaulting on the remains, especially of sumbul-atteeb. Oud is rather overwhelmingly mysterious, so ecstasy would be rather intense. I wish to have captured the scene a cat rolling on semi mashed chips, mesmerized and lost. This is what I witnessed almost two decades before.

Haha, these pics are great. Glad to see some cats enjoying some Oud too. Oud oil can have a calming and relaxing effect on us humans, just wonder what it does to cats :)
