Chronicles of Assam Organic...

Then you should do a sequel called "Oud for dummies". :D
LOL LOL. J'en dis pas plus.

About the Hindi-Rose, you guys are definitely up to something. I do, however, want to echo what @Oudamberlove said when it comes to our Mad Scientist ways: The whole is not always greater than the sum of its parts.

Exhibit A:
I had a few drops remaining of Assam Organic in my sample vial, so I added a few drops of EO's extremely precious Sultan Rose to it. Swished it around, threw up in the air a few times, then applied to my wrists. Andddddd? Yes, it was great. But at the same time, I felt like my nose was engaged in olfactory battle: Assam Organic vs. Rose. Each one trying to supersede the other. No kumbaya. The next day I put one drop of Assam Organic on one wrist*, then SRA on the other. Now that, my friends, was just fireworks and fireworks. It was as if I transformed into a big, pillowy cloud of bliss. Instead of drowning one into the other, allowing each to exist side-by-side made each component shine. I call it lateral layering lol.

FO, AA and EO don't currently have another Ward attar, so I ordered a sample of ASO's Itr Al Ward. I have not experienced the ingredients that went in it individually, so there will be nothing to nitpick. I learned to leave the iterjis do their work. All I need to worry about is enjoying.

*I failed to mention that I had reserved a drop wrapped in small piece of plastic haha

My Zachariyya plus HOM Ta'ifi was a failure. I just wasted my last 3 drops of Zach:confused:

But hear me out:oops:
The resulting blend is not bad at all, no synergy, but not bad. The problem is, when you're a Frag Head/Scent Junkie/Ouddict/Oudlover like me, you become too keen on the appreciation of wonderful scents, more so with the extra-good stuff. So, having known Zachariyya, and a quality Ward Ta'ifi, when I mix them together, my Olfactory Sense seeks them out "individually". Just like FO Rooh Al Hind, I could not accept the blend, I wanted to smell the wonderful Hindi by itself, and the Creamy Sandalwood by itself. As a matter of fact, I don't even like mixing my Ambergris with Sandalwood anymore. I just make an Ultra-Potent Tincture, then when I swipe it, I blow the alcohol away, and I'm left with a sheen of Ambergris Absolute on my skin, to sniff sniff and enjoy:rolleyes:

Your new blend might only need a little time to "cook" or settle. Try again after a week or so, with as open a mind as you can muster, and see if your experiment has altered for the better.

Good point,
I believe if a blend is allowed to age for a while, wonderful melding could be had:rolleyes:

ASAQ's Oud-Rose blend was amazingly beautiful. It's truly beyond any imagination.
(I said it 'was' because current releases are not the same. I bought current releases later & after testing them I said good-bye to ASAQ forever. They are HORRIBLE.)

When they made it by first pick Taif Rose+120+years vintage kalakassi+wild flowers. Al Moulok Blend or King Abdullah Blend or even Prince Mishal Ben Abdul Aziz blend. They were simply AMAZING. I had the Al Moulok Blend which was near about $1000 & that's the very older version of it. I had this 9ml Box & the 3ml decant both were AMAZING. It was UNBELIEVABLY beautiful one ! I've Ensar's Sultan Rose Attar & ASAQ's 'Ruh Al Oud' in my collection but dear fellows _ this Moulok Blend is the best OUD-Rose combo I've ever encountered. That UNIQUE century old mysterious ancient vibe of 120y old Kalakassi combined with extremely beautiful wild taif rose with some unknown wild flowers _ it is the ATTAR which was truly made for Royals.

It is discontinued since long ago but I found 2 very old batch original 9ml bottles in my country which they brought somehow from Saudi Arabia. I think I would buy at least one of them. Still I cannot even think to compare this one to any other Oud-Rose combo ! This one is just HEAVENLY beautiful.

The famous 9ml all-time-legend of ASAQ which is by now very hard to find ....

Saint, have you had a chance to try Prince Diamini or King Fahad blend? If so, how would you compare those to Molook blend? Also, are there really good blends you would recommend now that are not discontinued.

Assam Organic '07 courtesy of my Hindi OG brother on the left arm and Oud Zachariyya on the right arm, small swipes mind you and they're singing. Absotively posilutely out-friggin-standing.
Assam Organic 2010 Batch has a different vibe than 2007 Batch , both are superior, but I noticed 2010 Batch has a more sour- Hindi and Musky tone & is more intense , & numbs the tongue to the extreme , love both 2010 & 2007 , Sad to see another legend go , I use 2010 Assam organic in my rose Oil mix that I sell to my friends who come back for more , 1 tiny drop does a miracle in any sweet floral blend , I hope Ensar Bhaia has something in the future in that scent profile , Majestic and Musky tones to the Extreme with no Fecal notes ,

I think that's where I went wrong. Equal parts of 2010 Assam organic with rose is probably too strong. I think a mere drop or two of it will suffice.
When I wear AO2010 alone, I usually put on a SMALL swipe and boy, that is more than enough. Such a bold and great scent. Incidentally, I don't think I've come across an oil with such a big projection as AO2010 - I NEVER have to bring my wrist to my nose to remember that I am wearing Oud.

Mashallah, the gift that keeps on giving.

If that is the case with Assam Organic, I wonder what an oil like Zachariyya or Yunus would provide... ;)

AO2010 Takes the cake for sure , Next time you swipe take a taste test and you will be dazzled with Kinamic numbness , really love that oil , in Cold Winter days -35 the profile emerges like a rocket with different scent compared to plus +35 with humidity , I enjoy Ouds more in Winter believe it or not , Profile comes out different in cold weather

I call it a different slippery slope into a different kind of ouddiction. As much as I like to compare oils, I don't like to say which is better because that can be and is subjective; the big BUT is that there are differences. I look at it like overlapping hierarchies. The Assam Organics are the pinnacle of organic Hindi's so they overlap into wild Hindi territory, matching or beating many of them. Oils like Yunus, Zachariyya, Chamkeila, Lalitya are at the pinnacle of wild Hindi's; I can't say which is best for everybody but IMO they are on a different level. And then Oud Isa....fuggedaboudit
@OudforLife Assam Organics project extremely well, an oil like Zachariyya will make you wonder how and when you got the oil inside of your nose when you know very well that you never touched your nose.

Assam Organic Gem in a Bottle and Scent Profile is beautiful , I had a sweater in the closet for 4 months , Some AO2007 got on the sleeves 4 months ago and scent is still there , Amazing oil , but seeing the oil go down on the bottle is the sad part ,I try to put a micro molecule cause sooner or later the bottle will run out , The Balsamic Sour notes are captured like lighting and Musky tones words can't explain , Assam Organic belongs in a Olfactory museum & definitely the Hindi King for sure , A gem for Oud Heads , one of a Kind , May God give Ensar to get more Gems like AO .

I got this bottle by the skin of my teeth. Phewwww...
Excellent score! I'll PM you my addy, it's imperative and mandatory that I inspect all Hindi oils. It'll only take 2.8gms in order for me to do so, then I'll promptly post back the inspected and approved remainder.

Insha'Allah, In past he stated that there may be no new Assam Organics. The other day he teased us with a picture of an Assamese oil, either it's an Assam Organic that has yet to be released, an oil for a re-release or a new wild Assamese oil?!?!?! There's also an Assam Organic 2005 that I've not tasted and an Oud Adam that I wonder if it's just another name for AO '05 or a completely different oil?????

Congrats on that acquiring that beauty in time! I love that distillation very much.:)
Sadly, I wasn't able to grab a full bottle before it was raptured.
There are so many amazing ouds that Ensar produces, it's difficult to grab them all before they disappear. Someone should create a Pac Man style game, in which Oud lovers can run around in a maze and collect tolas.........oh wait, that's kind of like reality at the moment.

Congratulations on acquiring this beauty! I also have it as it was gifted to me a few weeks ago. Love everything about this Oudh.
I just had a thought which came to mind and that was, about the person who gifted me this Oudh. A few months before that I was showing this individual a sample bottle of something which I really didn't know (turns out that was Assam Organic 2007), the brother opened the bottle a little hard and it cracked and broke. He felt so bad and sorry and I told him Brother please don't worry about it. I forgot about it until I recently found that broken bottle and when I looked carefully it said Assam Organic 2007. So having a little patience got me a full bottle of this beautiful stuff. Alhamdulillāh!

Assam Organic was my first Hindi/barnyard style oil - being an uninitiated westerner, my first reaction was "seriously?? This is a fragrance??" Within a short period of time though my response become "Seriously! THIS is a fragrance!"
you made me smile and got deja Vu , 1990 old Arab guy gave a swipe of Oud and Smelled like Dirty baby diaper , , Noooooooooooo...... , but gradually scent changed like the Seasons going by , 5 Days later after bathing multiple times the smell was still there , & the Journey still continues

Can you go through the progression of you hating the oil to loving it, like what made you try it again and again after that initial first reaction. The reason I ask is because I have the oil and am terrified to try it again over say something like a Oud Yusuf or Aroha Kyaku. Maybe your write-up will give me the courage to go through the progression. : )
