There has been a bunch of buzz about this oil so let me be the first to spill the beans.

Is it Chinese or is it Hindi? Yes and Yes!! The wood is A. Sinensis which grew in India. There is no mistaking the provenance here. If you like Chamkeila, Assam 3000, Yoshi, Taha's new Hindi's (Mehabali, Lavanya, Kalyani), this oil is for you. Can you hear me PEARL?
What struck me first is how gorgeous the oil is physically. Incredibly beautiful clear golden color. Scent wise, there are no real accessory notes here. It is oud, top to bottom. Medicinal, animalic, bittersweet. I can see how this one can be addictive. I just cannot stop sniffing my wrist.
So I would characterize this oil as a super clean minimal 'barn' Hindi with some Chinese sweet bitterness. It is a very interesting oil from Ensar because it seems to my nose to have a bit of Taha's style in it. There is a cleanness to it with a heart reminiscent of Taha's creations, but still retaining the base foundation. The best of both worlds. Bravo Ensar, this one is stunning.
I will have to see how it dries down and evolves. The first 30 minutes have been delectable.

I don't know whether this is a real of completely imagined phenomenon but I swear every oud I have been shipped smells better to me after several days resting. I know this is real with wine, as tannins need to settle after the bottle has been agitated. Of course oud has no such sediment. Perhaps its temperature changes during shipping. Or perhaps I am crazy. Probably the latter, lol.

Anyway, today the CS was even sweeter, deeper, and luscious then when I get it two days ago. Beautiful oil this one!!
