Hello to all fellow Oud lovers.

I am interested in seeing which subregion and then which oil(s) from it is the king of hindi for you?

Also what is your criteria for approaching and evaluating hindi oils? E.g their soft openings. Barn of various degree. It’s special tobacco molasses dried fruit notes when fermented....

So far in my relative young journey I find Nagaland but even more specifically mokokchung to be the pack leader. That is if Hindustan 1 is or can be regarded by followers of the regions Oud as still showing typical expected notes and regarded highly.

I also really enjoy the muana notes in neighboring Bhutan but also Imphal and some naga oils.

I wonder what is unique in the eyes of the fans of the hind oils about subregions: Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Imphal... love yo read the tales of seasoned wearers...

meghalaya has been my least favorite to date without any changes to my taste or warming up to it (the darker molases, dark leather, chocolate, fudge-like notes and the strong sour dried dark fruit note is what doesn't work with me).

these days i am finding Nagaland (Except what appears to be from the higher mountainous part think IO bahadur, or AA hindustan 1, EO naga3k) to not be my thing anymore. the tropical fruit notes and sweetness is a bit much (IO alamgir, imperial naga come to mind)

imphal/manipur has big time climbed up in my world and is closest thing to Bhutan and that delicious muana note, while Assam has shown me its magic via IO shah jahan and AA nashila. but also EO assam 3000 and assam 2005.

My lack of experience with Ensar’s offerings has me at a disadvantage here. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to compare thoughts with you [emoji1303]

In my opinion, hindi oils tend to be more of a "feels" oil instead of study or fragrance oils. I hardly consider myself a seasoned wearer of hindi, but there is no doubt in my mind that the sedating qualities of hindi oils are unmatched. The only competitor would be sandalwood oils...

Scent profile is definitely hit or miss for most people, methinks. I seldom wear fermented hindi oils outside the home with the exception of EO Assam Wilde. By far the friendliest hindi for the masses. (Suckers!!!)
