Laos Wood

Has anyone had any expeience with wood from Laos? If so can you give me your opinion on it or any other similarities to any other regions. Thank You

Should be slightly spicier than the Chanthaburi chips, with the same overall scent profile.

Thanks for the input Ensar. Those Chanthaburi chips are nice and green. I burnt some Saturday with the intention of burning a few chips. 5 hours later and some insightful perspective, thinking and writing I looked and went through about 4 grams of chips! It was worth it though. I feel as though my my communion with God rode up with the agarwood smoke and my issues that I wrote about turned to grey dust and blew away like the charcoal. When my Laos chips arrive, perhaps I should send you a sample due to the samples of oil you sent me with the chips I recently ordered.

Hello Masstika. I have not received the package yet as it just got shipped on Thursday due to a holdup with the necessary paperwork. Here is a picture sent from what should be in the package. I can send you a sample chunk if you want when it arrives.

Laos Wood!


Have not had time to burn any yet. I want to burn several times before evaluating as sometimes I get different scents and opinions with each burning.

Wow, they look like a wild bunch. but at the same time they look like as if they are different kind of Oud. I recognize some of the patterns as Thai wood and others like I haven't seen before, especially that big piece in the bottom right corner. Thank you for your kind offer of a sample and let me reciprocate with a swap from some of my Ouds if you like .

I believe this is Aquilaria banaensae from the east Lao border with Vietnam. If you pm me I'll get you some samples in the mail. The reciprocation is not a requirement, but I will kindley accept anything that comes my way!

I just want to extend a big thanks to Edward who just sent me a nice potpourri of chip samples to burn. I already burned some other wood today so I will wait till tomorrow to check it out. Edward is a major stand-up guy.
