The trouble with rare ouds is that they’re rare. The only ones on the list that I’ve smelled are TR and BH. The TR is certainly very worth owning. Strikingly elegant. I had no affinity at all towards the BH but I haven’t sampled it in about a year so I really ought to try it again before saying what I just said. (I think I’d pass up two tolas of BH in favor of three grams of Adam’s Bio Ingravitesa.) But unless you’re buying the whole collection, I couldn’t give other than that qualified guess as to which oil should be cut so TR could be taken.
Addendum: Ammar, your question prodded me to try the BH again. Either it’s changed or I have. I recalled it as an excessively green, snapped-twig smell. Now it’s lost most of that harshness and gained some smoke and sweetness and has become a rather jolly daily swiper. I still recommend the BI over BH but who knows? You might well find the BH tickles you more and no one could fault you for it.
So now I have no recommendation about which bottle to say no to. Have fun with this project!
