oil or wood ?

I've wondered this myself, AbuAyoob. In my opinion, the oil has so much more to offer, in terms of sheer complexity and diversity. Whereas with Oud wood, while some of that is obviously still the case, it cannot compare to a swipe of Oud on my wrist.

I think it all depends on the quality. For example I would rather wear good oil than burn mediocre wood and the opposite is true. I have to say that a lot of people tend to say oil but if you have ever sat in a room were sink grade quality Oud chips are being expertly being burned on Charcoal, you would experience notes and smells that oils never achieve but most of all it is the experience that is so heady where time seem to slow down yet it is only transitory and it's over. Just as everything in life :)
