Oud oil Ban in the United States?

Ensar I would assume that this effects you also. Is there any news you can give the oud community involving the new usda/FDA restrictions on the importation of oud into US airspace? Thank you for your time and many blessings!

By the grace of God, we are unaffected by this. We are a legit US corporation that has been trading in legally and ethically obtained agarwood products for over a decade, and we pay a fair bit of taxes and fees to the US Government in order to run this business. We would like to assure our customers that business is running smoothly at Ensar Oud (ماشاء الله لا قوة الا بالله).

Blessings,
Ensar

Ensar I have been giving Oud Ahmad a lot more time than usual for an oil review I will confess. But I just put the last of it on a strip of clothing this weekend to stretch out the experience! Stay tuned to the Kissed by Copper thread for a review soon.

Apparently the whole North American mess with essential oils passing through customs was triggered by some company advertising that their oils could cure ebola if ingested. Very, very weird way to advertise essential oils, I have to say.

One of our spiritual masters used to always say 'There is good in it,' no matter what happened.

I request the Oud loving community to unite in prayers against this mess, and do everything you can to maintain calm and have a positive outlook. We are in the process of sorting out the protocol necessary for ensuring smooth delivery of all orders, and expect to have a complete picture within 48 - 72 hours.

As of now, apart from one single package that is being inspected by Health Canada – apparently to ensure that our customer is not about to start tipping her bottle! – all US and Canadian orders are being delivered smoothly and without any hick-ups. I will keep everyone updated as we find out more about the whole ordeal.

We are here to serve you.

Thank you for the update Ensar! I know the essential oil company you speak of and they have been making radical claims about their oils for years now. Let's keep our positivity about all of this and soon it will pass!

Thank you, GaianMind.

I have been tracking all of my North American shipments from the past few days, and I notice a strange pattern with some Canadian parcels. Apart from the initial parcel that was held, some parcels are going through a 'Clearance Event' once they're submitted to customs. Thankfully, Canadian Customs is deciding to then clear the packages, and they're now being delivered as before. (Coincidentally, the same customer whose order is now being held received another package that was opened and investigated, then cleared and processed as usual.)

My guess is they've now figured out what this is, i.e. that it's not something people are ingesting like oregano and other essential oils, and they're deciding to give us (and our customers) a break! :) On that initial parcel that was held, they're awaiting word from our customer to declare what she intends to use the oil for (i.e. any plans to ingest it? would be my guess).

None of our US shipments have been affected so far, and that includes parcels containing upwards of ten tolas of oil.
