Oud Parfums (ORISCENT)

Recieved 3 samples with my order of Crassna Cha Experiment (which is lovely!) of Blue Kalbar, Pink Papua and Thai Tabac.
The Blue Kalbar contains an amazing Blue Lotus oil that is completly breathtakingly beautiful, the whole oil is sweet, floral, ethereal, serene and gentle.
It lulls you away in its pretty spell, you seem to notice new notes in it all the time.

Pink Papua is a lot more sexy and sultry, but very beautiful.
Ensar used a hydrodistilled Jasmine Sambac in it, which I never would have guessed as it's completely different from the absolute.
I originally thought it was Juhi (Jasmine Auriculatum) absolute, since I have an absolute sold by White Lotus Aromatics that have the same very sweet, dreamy and upbeat scent and not the indolic basenotes of Sambac Absolute.
Perhaps a bit too feminine for my tastes, but beautiful all the same and I'm sure my sister would love it!

I just put on some swipes of Thai Tabac and it's very nice.
Deep, warm, masculine and dignified, notes of roots, leather, woods and vanilla.
Ensar told me it's tobacco-based, I've never tried tobacco in a parfum before but it's very nice, and it doesn't smell like cigarettes at all. :)
This is something I could wear at special occasions, like Christmas, New Years Eve or in a wedding.

I would recommend everybody to try them all as they are all works of art.
Ensar seems to really have the Midas' Touch when it comes to aromatics!

Yes, Thai Tabac ist a very good mukhallat! For me it has notes of tobacco spiced-up with orange peel, some oud (and do I smell some ambergris in it too?)
It is vey complex, has a wonderful drydown, and reminds me of autumn days and my favorite leather jacket worn while watching a children´s kite sail aloft in the gentle autumn breeze. The scents of fresh harvest and leaves turning to red-golden. Just magnificent! Can´t wait until my full bottle arrives.
BTW, if you haven´t noticed yet, there´s a "Perfume" section on Ensar oud now. Cool

Thai Tabac

From underground free-jazz joints to rugged Cuban country-side sundowns, to high rise business penthouses, this oil was worn at the birth of cool.

All charisma, 'deep, warm, masculine and dignified.' This is the fragrance John Steinbeck and Tony Montana alike would have wished they could wear.

Without a trace of that overwhelming burnt leather note that kills so many tobacco perfumes, toffee, cream, earthy honey-smoked vanilla, and a touch of suave fuse into a vintage mood that, even if for only a moment, melts your every concern.

Deliberately ditching the citrusy, sweet-sharp topnotes perfumers tend to use to counter the richness of tobacco, this is a bare-bones, hardcore pipe-in-hand aroma that gives you the eye, instead of a smile. Thai Tabac's old-school groove lets you ride the Mother Road, and lets your lady ditch her high heels for a leather jacket.

Decadent, edgy, have-it-with-strong-cup-of-coffee ‒ instead of lemon and orange, think vetiver, hay and juniper berry, aged patchouli, and sandalwood. You won't pick up any citrus notes that try to tame the fragrance. Thai Tabac is all leaf and leather, with a powdery incense note wallowing behind the curtain.

For him, or her, day or night, Thai Tabac's got a gentlemanly sophistication Tom Ford (sorry, Tom!) just can't cut, and a bad-girl style Bonnie Parker would be proud of.

Just got my bottle of Aoud Bleu from Ensar.
If I understood correctly this is the forebear to Blue Kalbar.

Words seems to escape me lately, but:
It's very, very nice.
Soft, floral, powdery and without any jarring notes whatsoever.
Slightly animalic, but not in any way fecal, it makes me wonder if there is any ambergris or other animalic extracts in it.
I don't know much about the ingredients, but it must contain Blue Lotus, and Ensar told me it contains Kyara de Kalbar.
It's not a strong parfum, and for a shy guy like myself it's perfect to wear in public without fear of making too much "waves".
I don't have anything negative to say about it, really a perfectly rounded and beautiful oil.

Hi Alcadya,

We have Aoud Bleu which is about to launch, containing amongst other things, Kyara de Kalbar and Blue Lotus; and I am in the process of re-formulating Thai Tabac, which is almost sold out, and have a new version of Jungle Kinam in the works. Due to popular demand, there will probably be a relaunch of Blue Kalbar as well.

Unfortunately, I lost one of my luggages containing both of my scales during a recent trip, which caused a delay in getting everything done in time for the new year.

Good to know things are happening on the parfum side of things.
I'm curious, what ingredients does Jungle Kinam contains?
I remember seeing Jungle Kinam on your site, but it sold out quickly.

Thanks, Kakao. Among other things, Jungle Kinam contained Kalbar 3000, Irian Emerald & just about the finest sandalwood I've ever worked with. Given the sellout of Kalbar 3000, I might have to resort to Borneo 5000 or 50K in the new formulation instead.

Jungle Kinam
Pink Papua

I was very lucky to all Ensar perfumes, I like all very much.. So let me give my reviews

jungle Kinam i detect cypress, pine nidles, hinoki. Following by oud and florals in the dry down. I love it so much, excellent blend very calming and meditative.
I put one drop and keeps for 7 hours, very good longevity for one drop, sillage is moderate, overall very good and worth buy.

Pink Papua,One drop starts with Gold crest, oud and lotus plays in the background in strange patterns, lovely dry down with excellent longevity and moderate sillage, some elegant note of citrus plays here and there hugging the gold crest,
very nice composition, fresh! Grapefruit! It's like a fruit green dancing, oranges falling from the sky all around the stage,, :D this blend has a very positive felling to life, its like say to you: don't worry keep walking with the eyes on sky!

To be continued..

AMBRA

The vintage, woodylicious, super creamy sandalwood alone is worth the pricetag.... Dotingly aged since 2005, this is my hallmark sandal which I use exclusively in the creation of my oud perfumes.

Infused with exquisite beachcombed ambergris located in California in 2006, it makes for the most satisfying sandal-amber infusion you could possibly crave.

Can be worn as a standalone perfume, or used as an exalting animal fixative in perfume creations.

Full ingredients list: vintage sandalwood (2005), cruelty free beachcombed ambergris (2006).

Very limited stock.

There's many ways to use ambergris in perfume, Sidi! From granulating and infusing the actual amber stones, to using a tincture (alcohol-based), absolute (hexane extracted concrete then distilled in ethyl alcohol) etc...

I prefer to use the actual raw stone directly as part of the perfume, and then macerate and let that infuse over a period of many years.

The current Ambra perfume was infused over three years ago.... :)

Ensar could you elaborate on the Castoreum that you posted up on your website. Is it pure or macerated into something else? Or is it a blend ment to resemble Castoreum.
