oud smell changing due to humidity

Anyone else experience this phenomenon?

I wore KSSS today with its typical deep, dark, cherry syrup. But the minute I left the air conditioned cool room into the high humidity of Saudi Arabia I smell instantly changed to something that I can only describe as 'rotten eggs' Upon coming back in it morphed back to its usual self.

i also had this experience with a high pitched Borneo. Inside it was singling airy fairy songs and the minute I went outside it was all mellow sweet vanilla. Back indoors and the melody started again. Very interesting to say the least.

It could also be "us" that are affected by temp. and Humidity. I have read that the cold and dry air interfere with the nose's ability to smell and that a warm and slightly humid air is best to judge the true profile of a scent.

Or, and this is just speculation on my part, that when you're outside and it's hot and you're sweating that the sweat/phermonal mixes with the Oud oil to provide such a result. I know from my own experience that my sweat changes odor with the type of meal I eat daily and in turn has an effect on the smell of Oud on my skin especailly when I am outside and slightly sweating.

My theory on the instant change is due to admixture of a huge number of water molecules and oud oil. Really humid environments like were are live normally have a damp rancid type smell in the air that we don't detect as we are always used to it. But coming from outside people will smell it. Whatever is in the air that is causing the damp smell (mold?) is also mixing with the oil and causing the smell. If the air is less humid then the smell changes but not into something unpleasant but something different yet pleasant. this is simple chemistry. Likewise in a dry environment the oil smells dry and muted. So I guess to get the best out of an oil one needs a normal environment of say 60 percent humidity. Like this everything will harmonize and (evaporate? together.
