Oudline

#1
Hi all,

In an attempt to further broaden the conversation (and also to post my first thread) here's one dedicated to one of the those lesser mentioned sellers. Any body tried Oudline oils? How do they compare (yes comparison is acceptable) :) to say oils from other sellers. Price wise some of their oils are in line or would you believe it way cheaper than our very own Ham firl. How does that pan out in terms of smell and quality?

An example:
Ham firls Vintage 1970 Combodi is $180 for 3cc
Oudline's combodi qadeem khusoosi is $100 for 3ml

I tried it! I liked it!
To me its quality is 7 in scale 0-10.
Oudline has good ouds like Kalimantan Super Ateeq and Cambodi Suyufi Qadim.
I think Oudline is a small step below the Oudimentary in terms of quality. But the Oudline maintains a rich variety.

Thanks for the response Abdullah. Have you tried the Hindi Khusoosi? It's the only one in a higher price range than HF's offerings.
Cambo Suyufi Qadeem sounds enticing and yes they do have quite a diverse product portfolio!

I have some samples that someone sent me a while back, but I don't know if they are from Oudline or what. They are labeled: Burmese, Indian Oudh, Cambodian Qadeem, Cambodian Malaki, Cambodian Muataq.

Oudiferous. They do have oils by those names. What do you make of them samples.

Abdullah, a dangerous question for you. Do you feel the Cambodi Qadeem Khususi, is pure? i.e. unadulterated?
If you of tried any of these ,which does it resemble most, KSSS, Thaqeel, AgarAura's old Combodis or Ensar's?

I found these samples to be very dull, and some of them contain synthetics, to my nose (such as the Burmese, no doubt). So I don't know, I wouldn't really buy or wear their oils, because I don't think its really even at a quality that would qualify as "Oud" in my book (i.e., the oil that is the result of fully mature resin in the heartwood of the tree). I have no intention to be demeaning toward Oudline, or to those that enjoy their products, so please do not take my opinion personally--only my personal thoughts.

Yes , it seems to me unadultered.
And yes i tried all these ouds.

As a standalone oil I thought it smelled ok enough. Very muddy, damp, earthy with sharp notes of strong black pepper and some spice. It smells like a dark swamp. However compared to Oudimentary's Mearuke it seems far less complex and weak. By Comparison the merauke is less muddy, more mineral-y, salty and grassy. Its a much nicer and more complex oil. Compared side by side once you smell the merauke you can barely smell the Irian.

forgot to mention. Irian does not last long on the skin. A strong start that peters out after a awhile. Merauke lasts a long time. The Irian is cold and damp where as the Merauke is hot and moist

Thanks Ahmir for sharing that information and especially the Purity issue for I had thought that they were all 100% pure. Did you check on the prizing for the Burning chips?

This is an extract from an email conversation.

"The qualities of the oil shall be same always but still can not expect 100% same as these are natural oil's. for the Oud chips its always shall vary. "

Please note the price of few 1st moving Oud chips:
ML-90986500 = MYR 120.00 for minimum 6 gr.
ML-20907300 = MYR 100.00 for 6 gr.
HND-70367200 = MYR 75.00 for 6 gr.
ML-30280500 = 45.00 for 6 gr.

"Hope the above are ok with you."
