Alright folks, I figured we could set aside philosophical musings about comparing oils and the subjectivity of oils... and let's just have fun with this poll question*
Should I get Tigerwood Royale or OR 1985? I love both of them :) What do you thing?

Best,
Philip

*I wholeheartedly appreciate ALL of your "musings" to date. I have learned so much from you all. Many thanks.

Is OR85 again became available for sale? Ensar's website says Final Bottle sold.
By the way they both are fantastic, but I am personally more tilted towards OR85

Am I allowed to Vote n Tell?
I chose TW Royale.
It was a very close race.
TWR won by a nose:cool:
OR85 is BAMM!!! in-your-face oudiness, but TWR has the best musk note I experienced in any oil followed by a unique wonderful perfume, that gave it the edge:)

Casino, With Cheese, Bugatti.

I was sad to miss out on the original tigerwood and as I have a couple of bottles of OR 85 far away in storage then Tigerwood is next on my covet list.

Man, that is an impossible choice my friend and there in no wrong answer. I say TR. No, wait, OR 85. No. Hang on!
Dammit, it's pointless. Sorry, i cant help you. ;)
Ugh, that is exactly how I sound in my head...
@Oudamberlove LOL Vote n Tell I love it

The vote is so far dead locked..... dun dun dun.... #suspense #thriller

And sorry everyone, I did not mean to imply that Ensar has re-listed OR85 on his site. I just know of a couple private vendors... so I would be purchasing it from a third party.

@OudforLife The simple answer is both. When I'm struck with such a dilemma I plot a course of action and weigh the options. Obviously the first thing to consider is which do you prefer, the most. Which one speaks to you, the most. The second thing I consider I do so unconsciously, when comparing oils 9 out of 10 times I naturally gravitate to the older, longer aged, more mature oil. A haven't tried TWR or OR85 but I have a sneaky suspicion that I'd prefer OR85 based on the statistics of my past choices. I'd get OR85 first, then I'd work with my "union delegates", pull off a Lufthansa type heist and get TWR, but that's just me.

Thank you @kooolaid79 for pointing this out. @MzM15 keep an eye out on Marketplace.
@PEARL Thanks for describing your thought process. The hope and the goal is to have both by the end of the year. I need to space them out due to financial restraints.
TWR is so distinguished and elegant, and OR85 is so BAM-in-your-face oudy as Curt was saying - which is a quality that I like. I love strong, piercing oils. I will not rush to action... waiting to see which one will eventually take over my soul.

I like @PEARLY-gates' thinking on this. I think if you plan on getting both eventually (as I highly recommend), get which ever one you are craving for the most first. You just cannot go wrong with either one. I reach for TWR more often but OR85 is the reference for a properly aged Oud. Definitely a must for a collection IMO.

I feel that there are varying quality levels of resin within a given oil. Some resins are far more aromatic than others, and some resins don't age as well as others.
Now if OR85 had the same caliber resin as Oud Sultani, then OR85 should be your first choice.

It basically boils down to this:
With OR85, I am hoping to own a piece of Oud history. Something which is safe to say cannot and will not be replicated. Not to mention that I love the no-nonsense raw resin.
With TWR, I am hoping to treat myself to a majestic oil, as close as I can get to Oud Ahmad as possible (which I cannot afford). I went through my sample of TWR in a matter of days. Instant attraction. Of course, it doesn't help that Ensar name drops the Sheikha of Abu Dhabi in his write up - I lived there for 6 years, and that kind of talk works on a fool like me, hehe :)

We'll see which path I take. Stay out of trouble, kids ;)

finally someone who knows that there is no Queen in Abu Dhabi.

<<<<<<<<<<<<
Queen of Abu Dhabi is going around China with bag of money to buy oudh from small back street Chinese man. This must be happening when all here Palace staff, aid, support and a bunch of other helpers were on their day off, so Queen had no one to do this for her.

Forget the fact that Abu Dhabi does not have a Queen, it has a Shaykha, i.e wife of the current Shaykh.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please don't hijack my silly thread :D :p I cannot think of anything more inconsequential than the difference between Queen/Sheikha.
In the spirit of Ramadan, let us not demean and provoke each other for no reason. والله حرام.
Peace and blessings to you.
