pure attar and mukhallats

#1
I fancy a change. Been wearing pure oud stright for a while now and I need a change.

I want to try a non oud based attar, something traditional like shamama or the various other attars that are out there somewhere.
UNS used to have a few years ago but they don't stock now.

Anyone know of attars out there feel free to share comment???

White Lotus Aromatics have attars and ruhs back in stock.
They have a Musk Hiina Shamama Attar:

They also have an Agarwood-centric Shamama, if you want to try that.
And also two hydrodistilled Jasmines( J. Sambac and J. Auriculatum) which is pretty rare, as you mostly find the alcohol extracted Absolutes on the marked.
I haven't tried any of the above, but WLA is very well-known for their quality products.

WLA have the best Attars I've ever come across. I highly recommend their Amberi Attar, and will be buying some of their Shamamas. Glad to see they are stocking Attars again.

Just checked there website and it says you have to order 10 samples minimum. Is that 10 samples of the same thing or different. Also, what if i order an amount greater than sample size, will I still have to order 10 or 1?

thanks for clearing that up kakao,

Just seen that they don't ship outside of USA. I am in Saudi. that's a shame.

Anyone know of any other reliable vendors that do similar attars. Doing a a simple search brings up loads but not sure how reliable they are.

That's weird, they've sent it to me in Norway this year.
I'm pretty sure they ship worldwide.
Where did you read they only ship to the USA?
edit: They do ship international:
Our default shipping method is UPS ground for the continental US and USPS for HI, AK and international orders

This is the reply I got

Dear Raja-
Kind greetings!
Thank you for the email.
We unfortunately do not ship internationally. We just ship to USA addresses.
Christopher
pS The maximum amount of samples we ship for any order is 10(sample prices are next to each attar, essential oil, etc) It can be for any mixture of attars etc
As long as one meets the $100 mininum for sizes larger than a sample then a person can order as few as they like.
But again we only ship to USA addresses

Are we both viewing the same website as I just saw from the website that they do international shipping?

No I haven't tried it.
They are not specializing in oud, so my guess that their oud would be best in a perfume blend.
Probably not compareable to Ensar Oud.

Wow Ahmir, that's so sad...Both for you and me.
I was really looking forward to trying their attars, but I guess they don't ship international anymore.
What a shame.

there must be another way to order. Maybe do a group buy with someone from the states?

OR from other recommended websites.

Anybody recommend any other sites tat do decent attars?????

Have you tried Ensar's Oud Parfums?
While not attars they are blended exceptionally well with Oud and out-of-this world perfume ingredients.
They are all-natural and the best perfumes I've ever tried.
Ensar travels the world looking for the very best in rare perfume ingredients and it shows.
I got a sample of Blue Kalbar, Pink Papua and Thai Tabac with my order of Crassna Cha.
I'm going to order Blue Kalbar (oud and blue lotus ++) and Borneo Zen (oud and musk ++) soon.

Kakao I am aware of Ensar's offerings but I want to move away from the oud genre for a while. I believe all of Ensar's Mukhallats are oud based. At some point I will buy some but at the moment I need a change

masstika I thought J Steele was the owner of WLA - my mistake

Christopher at WLA told me, a long time ago, that he doesn't specialize in Oud and that it is a world of its own. He referred me to Ensar Oud.

Kakao, J. Steele and Christopher from WLA are good friends. When Christopher ceased to carry Attars a while back, J. Steele acquired his remaining stock, and is still offering that.

I have mentioned john Steele in the previous page and I think they deliver world wide http://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/c-130-authentic-indian-attars-jsteele.aspx
Correct me if I am wrong Massika but I think a problem at john Steele website is that there are not description of the attars. It is a bit shoking.
For instances, the description of Mukhallat Attar is: 3 ml Blend of floral attars
And the one for Amulya Attar is: 1.5ml Blend of 60+ precious oils.

I do not understan how can I buy a Mukhallat, oil or Attar without an idea about its content. I hope they fix that because I would like to try their products.

Alcadya, go to www.whitelotusaromatics.com to see a description of the Attars you are interested in. WLA is a wholesaler, they provide the Attars to J. Steele. You will be able to obtain them at a cheaper price from WLA than from Steele. He is not really a big advertiser. You can always call the number and inquire about products and get a nice description. I always enjoy speaking to John because he always seems happy to talk with me about his oils and answer questions I have. He is also good at making recommendations when I talk to him about perfumes I am crafting.
