Recommendations for UAE & Morocco

#1
Dear Oud experts.

I will be in Dubai and Morocco soon. Do any of you have any recommended stores or vendors to check out in these regions? I am particularly interested in accessing high quality mukhallats and not pure oud oils.

Also if you have any particular oils that you know the names of please feel free to name them.

Thanks in advance,
Muhammed Patel

Hello @Muhammed Patel
I was in Morocco not too long ago and I could not find attars/mukhallats with ease. My takeaway was that they are just not as prevalent in North African/Berber culture as they are Arabian/Khaleeji ones.

I assume you are looking for something other than Rasasi, Ajmal, Al Haramain, Swiss Arabian, ASAQ and Arabian Oud. To put it nicely, I don't blame you. I would be looking elsewhere as well. I will tell you, though, that when I was in London over Christmas, I walked by a store adjacent to Harrods called "Spirit of Dubai." Given its location, and its gilded-everything, it looks like it caters to the Khaleeji upper class. If you do give it a try, kindly share your thoughts. It was closed, regrettably, and couldn't go in

(Not looking for pure Oud. I have found my source for that :p. Just mukhallats/attars)

The best attars I've found are right here, AA and Ensar's creations are fantastic. Sultan Pasha and Rising Phoenix also have some great attars. No reason to even travel away from the keyboard. ;)
I still think it would be fun to look, so if you do find anything good let us know. :)

Greetings , Morocco has some amazing rose oils , comparable to Taif and Damascus Rose , they are the same Genetics but could be different after years of adapting to soil and climate condition , they have a famous Rose festival in spring and you can find amazing oils during that time but if you ask around regarding Rose Oils and other types of Attars you should be led to the proper path God willing , and my favorite Rose oil is Moroccan and I use it allot in my blends , hope you can score some Moroccan rose oils inshaAllah

Hahaha. Thanks for that recommendation - I will keep a look out for "Spirit of Dubai". You are absolutely right - looking for something else other than the usual houses.

100% agree with you on where the best attars are. I just thought I'd ask around :) When in Rome...
