Who knows of a good source for Taif Rose or Indian Rose? I know that ASAQ has their own field of taif rose that they distill, but I don't know how to buy from them really. Zahras seems to have contracted a poor reputation for fulfilling orders, so I definitely don't want to go that route.

What do people recommend?

I know Oudline has a variety of Rose oil from different regions. They are a good source and the cost of their products are directly proportional to the quality so the Taif Super is almost $1,650/tola and the next grade 1 drops drastically to about $480/tola. I have a question; do other members really think that Taif Rose is superior to other Rose oils from other regions, say from India, Turkey or Bulgaria? and if so what is amazing about it or what is special note about it that make it unique from other Rose Oils?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm not sure I want to drop $200+ on the Rose oils from Oudimentary. I have seen the Rose oils that J. Steele has to offer, and they are quite affordable, and his products are guaranteed high quality. But I've just been curious about taif rose and Indian rose, and why taif rose in particular seems to be so valued. So I think that Masstika raises some interesting points, if someone more experienced with various types of rose oils could comment, then it would be educational for all of us!

All I know is Amouage Tribute Attar has the most amazing rose accord I have ever smelled. Supposedly it takes a whole field of roses for one 12 ml bottle.

Have any of you tried Oudimentary's Rose Isparta or Rose al-Hindi?
I would like to try a good, pure rose oil without any additives,
If you have tried either (or both) I would be grateful to hear what you think about it/them.

Thank you, Adam!
Are they "clean" smelling?
I mean no off-notes, just pure rosy goodness?
I have a Turkish Rose Otto that while nice, has some off-notes like rubber, smoke etc.

I have Amouage Taif Rose. It is fantastic but must be placed on the skin for a bit before smelling. Similar to a strong hindi oud it is almost too much at first. Very sharp and biting. VERY STRONG!! I guess when I first smelled it I expected it to smell like my roses in the garden. Soft fruity and gentle. LOL Not!!! After 5 min it softens to the most ripe pure rose smell I have ever known. EXCELLENT!!! SWMBO tends to use it as a layer and I may end up needing to decant a stash for my blends. :)
