Share Your Favorite Mukhallat(Blends)

I just received a bottle of Malook from Amouage. This mukhallat has to be one of my top 5 so far. The dose ambergris is heavy and the Taif shines through given it a perfect blend to my scenses. The oud lingers in the mix to extend the longevity on the skin to a beautiful dry down. I really love this one

Never tried anything from Amouge akhi, but I always hear good things about their mukhallats. My favorite is khalta ateeq oudhy from agarscentsbazaar which is ver heavy on the taif rose and Oudh. Transition is smooth from a high rose to notes to a woody dry down with the rose popping up in between at the end and it has power!

I really enjoy Oudimentary's Mukhallat Salman. A very balanced blend of henna, rose, amber, musk, and saffron in a Cambodi base. I can smell each oil in this Mukhallat, and yet it all blends together in a perfection of aroma. In any given moment, I notice a different note--the powdery rose, or the deep henna, or the spice of saffron, or the body of Oud. A wonderful Mukhallat! Definitely on the sweeter side, compared to say AgarAura's Al-Arabiya (which I don't think is worth the price).

Discovered something new the other day, Merauke and White Ambergris go great together. It all happened by accident, I opened each vial and a little bit of each got on my finger when removing the sticks, what an awesome accidental discovery! Any try this before!

Well put you guys, and speaking of Borneo Zen, this is one of the most amazing fragrances I have ever smelled hands down! I'm not one that's into too much sweetness, but Borneo Zen and Pink Papua are other worldly figurative speaking! Borneo Zen has a jasminey accord that has captivated me along with the musk which is noticeable in intervals! My wife said this is a pleasant aroma and she is someone who uses perfumes like guess etc. Now she just told me that because of oud Yusha, De'angkor, pink Papua and Borneo Zen she is totally into oud and will ot be wearing that stinky stuff ( commercial perfumes) anymore. As for me I can now accept the sweeter things in life I.e my love for stinky ouds will be accompanied by the sweetness of Yusha and De'angkor!

I cant express my thoughts how I would like about Borneo Zen so all I will say is Zen it is! Very friendly mukhallats, which I am not allowed to wear outside haha!

Borneo Zen is too bright for me at the opening, but the drydown is a delicious skin scent - woody and salty, with a hint of leather and musk (I have no idea what the actual ingredients are, these are just my impressions).

My favourite mukhallat is Arabian Oud's Prince Diamini in its both iterations. To me this is the epitome of Arabian perfumery - rich, deep, luscious, intense, passionate. It is the most powerful (and long lasting) perfume I have ever tried. You literally need a nano-swipe, not even a drop (it would be too much) and there'll be a very radiant and fragrant aura around you for the entire day. Make a mistake of getting even a tiny bit of this onto clothing and the scent will survive for many days and that after a wash! Even though it's increadibly strong, it's not loud or crass at all, just radiant and powerful. I love this one for cooler weather when I want something warm and comforting. There are two versions of this:

Prince Bandzile Diamini - clove, orange blossom, himalayan balsam flower, egyptian musk, frankincense

Prince Majahonkne Diamini - wild rose, oud, clove, pepper, ambergris

There must be tons more ingredients not listed as the scent is so complex, deep and rich (and well blended) that I find it almost impossible to identify any individual ingredients. Both version smell very similar (despite the different official notes listed) but Bandzile is slightly "darker" to my nose at the beginning although Majahonkne has a nicer, "prettier" drydown. Both are perfectly unisex.

This is probably the only traditional Arabic perfume blend that I don't hesitate wearing to the office, there's absolutely no unpleasantness or strangeness to this one unlike many others that have either piercing synthetic musk, or poopy oud or thick amber. If I had to keep just one mukhallat PD would be it (in either of its incarnations).

The only problem with this one is its availabilty and astronomical price. So far I've only seen it in one store - Arabian Oud in London, I don't know if they still have it. The standard bottle is 5 tolas (about 60ML) and the pricing in the past was as high as 10000 pounds and as low as 5000 during their many 50% "sales". In the past, if you asked nicely it was not impossible to arrange to decant it into a smaller bottle thus reducing the price. Nobody should realistically need any more than 3-5 ML of this oil blend to last them a lifetime - it's that strong, and I am not kidding. If you ever get your hands on this - use caution when applying, overdo it even by a tiny drop and you'll clear the room in short order.

Igor did you mean the prize is 10,000 British Pounds at the highest or did you 1,000 British Pounds? if it's the former than by God what do they have in there? Gold dust or ancient Oud from medieval times? is it in the form of attar? and is it all natural or a mix of natural and synthetics. You have definitely peaked my interest here :)

masstika, I think the "sale" price was 5000 British pounds for the 60ML bottle, so about $8000. I have no idea what it's so expensive or why on earth anybody would need that much of this juice, a 3-6 ML is a lifetime supply.

Thank you Igor for the clarification. I had misread the 5 tolas as 5ml for that astronomical prize. That's what shocked me. Like you, I don't understand this large (Family) sizing Business especially if it is Attar.

AbuAyoob what is the price of the Borneo Zen and Pink Papua?
Pink Papua is $195 and the Borneo Zen is $350. They are both amazing oils Mr Oud and I think you would really enjoy them. They are balanced (perfect) from the opening to the dry down. Pink Papua opens with a fresh florals and hints of musk and a creamy wood smell that is addictive ;) . I couldnt stop smelling it last night! Zen is the big brother/sister with a very nice fruity and woody character and I am doing both oils an injustice with my description because I am only familiar with stinky ouds and not much experience with musk and florals. You would not be disappointed at all!

Pink Papua I believe has pink Lotus extracts which IMO has strong notes of Jasmine. The opening note is vaporous with a powdery pink lotus smell. The oud which smells like Merauk or Papuan plays a second fiddle in this composition and provide the vehicle for the floral notes to ride. Personally I think it is a more feminine than masculine, more soft than rugged, more day time than evening. This is a Mukhalate with a western Pallet in mind. As AbuAyoob mentioned it is very well balanced with no sharp or off putting notes.

masstika you hit the nail on the head with the jasmine description in the opening and it is even more pronounced in the Borneo Zen which is beautifully presented when coming off the skin. I originally thought that I was dealing with two very floral and creamy sweet ouds!

Knowing what i do now about middle eastern manufactures I am sure there's more than just EOs and abs floating around in it, however my favorite mukhallat is Dahn Al Oudh Moattaq (Concentrated Perfume Oil) by Ajmal. It starts out rosy/woodsy and dries down to woodsy/musky. Moattaq means aged and i do get the sense that this has been rested for quite some time before I got it.
