I went with Hainan 2005. An oil which sometimes get overshadowed by China Sayang. And I do not think it should be. The deep notes are beautifully balanced with some of the tartness. I think this is a deeply satisfying oil. It is firing on all cylinders.
I only have a small sample of China Sayang. It's a very nice oil but I personally prefer Hainan 2005, the Yunnan oils too for that matter.

FO Koon Mai Wan.

How is it possible that there’s so little discussion of this oil? It starts off like an earthy Indonesian oil, sweet, woody and ethereal. A bit like ORSL. Then after an hour or so it starts to give the most incredible fiery incense note. The incense is so powerful that at first I confused it with black pepper that I was using liberally in a recipe. But no, it wasn’t exactly black pepper, it was smoky churchy incense, very bitter and pure. I’d compare the note to Fu-In Kyara but without any wetness. Most amazing and category-shaking Thai.

@Larry K. You are absolutely correct. I think that may be Adams greatest oil. I was very fortunate to get a small sample from @bhanny and it is outstanding! I think the oil just did not make it into many people’s hands so talk about it is limited.

Which other of Adam’s top shelf oils have you tried?

I got Bio Ingravitesa at the same time, which was unfortunate because it has no hope of standing against the KMW. It took me a few days to start smelling the BI. That turns out to be a very fine oil too. Outstanding for a plantation oil.

Scent of the night: tony Bolton triple super incense grade.

Well you may say , hey Rasoul, you got the wrong thread. Here we talk oil.

Except.

What I was smelling is wanmei from taha and latervthat evening heating the wood made me see a strong connection between the oil and this grade or sample of wood.

Later tonight or tmr I will try Nha Trang Ltd and tonybolton super dinking king Nha Trang. Petrified resiny pieceanoyher one is brittle and fragile and snaps like glass. Stay tuned in

AA’s Camellia this morning. Wow this is a stunning oil with a incensey dry down. Absolutely fantastic stuff.
This afternoon I went with another Cambodian and wore AA’s Kuzen. The notes of this oil is something everyone who loves Cambodian should experience. Tea, citrus, woody = a perfect oil.
Hmmm. Sounds better. Yet I am still not sure about larger size purchase. Perhaps is time I buy a sample first. Not something usually needed to be practiced with taha.

AA Koh Kood.
I swear all of Taha's new Cambodi ouds are amazing.
This one is more trat. Is Oud yusuf like heart but then it has other stuff going on. Like jsl carrying the essence and soul of Yusuf but goes avant garde on it. Build upon it with layer upon layer of nuance. Koh kood is jsl level on semi off days and to my taste on its ON days is slightly better.
