My scent of the day was Tigerwood 1990

I didn’t think it was possible to beat Royal and 1995, but 1990 does it! I get a more musky quality with this one along with an deep incense accord that flows through the composition. I’m starting to favour these aged oils, there is a certain magic.

^ Interesting that was your last post because I just came here to talk Tigerwood Royale, my SOTN. I think we take this oil for granted, because it’s been on the site forever and seems like it will be there forever even though I know it won’t, and it’s ridiculously well priced. But this one is a rare gem. We talked awhile back about which oils people find totally unique in their profile and unlike anything else, and this one fits that description for me.

Another vendor would easily charge $800-1000 per gram for this oil if they got their hands on it, and people wouldn’t feel cheated. True story I just did venture out and try a couple samples of $1,000/gram oil from another vendor and neither of them were as satisfying as good old TW Royale. It might very well be the best value available from EO right now. I still like TW95 best of the three for its sheer Ouddiness, but the Royale is a close second.

Yep I’m shocked TW Royale is still available!

Great experience with Satori Fusho this morning. Such a rich and beautiful distillation of pure kyen in a steel pot conditioned with the previously distilled New Guinea/ Brunei Sultan Mustafa. For hours I've enjoyed breathing in a natural fragrance of multi-faceted elegance. This happens to be one of the most reasonable bottles in my collection yet gives up nothing in terms of pure enjoyment.
Next step Ensar's website to order the enticing Gong Xi specials Hailam Kilam and Hainan Attar. Exciting new developments in a story that keeps unfolding...

Chugoku Naya by @Ensar Oud

I try a lot of oils from various sources and I am very rarely blown away, very often the next oil is just more of the same.

This oil has blown my head of it’s shoulders!

It’s like everything else has been skilfully washed away revealing only the pure resin.

A hauntingly beautiful representation of both the Chinese and Hindi profiles.

11/10

SOTD/SOTE Tibetan Musk

My thoughts on Tibetan Musk for first two wearings. I am quite sure there is a lot to explore in this beautiful composition but could not hold myself back. So, here we are.

I picture a monastery nestled in the middle of Kangra valley, mini Lhasa. Hills lined with Deodar trees. Surrounded by clouds. Wildflowers adorn the valley like stars on a new moon night.

It has just stopped raining. Fog is coming down. Raindrops cuddle with fuzzy eucalyptus flowers and the air is full of sweet comforting aroma of Eucalyptus. As I walk through, I see Monks offering incenses doused with Spikenard, Clove, Cinnamon, Frankincense, Sandalwood and what not. Wafts of labdanum and benzoin laden dhoop from the nearby temple pervades through.

The more I think about it, more my heart fills with moonstruck euphoria. I yearn for this place.

It is a gorgeous composition. The texture of this perfume is like a dark gooey ball of majoun laced with honey, vanilla, and dried fruits. So sweet and intoxicating that you want to bite into it.

As the perfume settles, it gives you a warm hug. My Musc Ravageur stares at us with envious side eyes. I do not love her as much as I did till yesterday.

There is something mythical about Tibetan Musk. In the heart, it’s an ambery, sweet, warm-coumarin gourmand. A couple hours in, I also get this fresh spicy vintage cologne vibe. Reminds me of musky ambers. I found the late drydown to be reminiscent of my vintage bois du Portugal for some reason. There is no pissy element in here. There is just divinely dark and chocolaty Sultan Qaboos musk.

Something in my heart said, this would be something I would love when it was first announced and at that very moment, I decided to get it. Although, this is a 360 from what I expected but a surprise that I would like to experience again and again.

I love the new bottles. I absolutely love Oud Yusuf and feel bad that I did not try Iris Ghaliya. If this is the direction respected Ensar is going, I’ll make it a point to try every offering.

On this beautiful sunny "spring" day in Florida with cool temps (20 C, 70 F) I must extoll the pleasure of a glorious Maroke "Xiang Liao Ling". A most unique fragrance among ouds, it always demands my attention every time I apply. Pure heaven to inhale this magic. Once home enhancing the experience with some Ceram Sinking wood on the Subitism. Thanks Ensar for giving our lives such dimension with this breathable art. Ahhhhhh!
