Starting the oud journey

#1
Salam/Hello to all!

Just stumbled across this forum a couple of months ago and have been reading posts and learning ever since, I thought it was the right time to introduce myself!

After using western perfumes and fake ouds for many years, one sniff of the real thing has meant that all my EDP’s and synthetic oils have remained unused for months! Now, nothing else hits the spot other than the
pure good stuff!

My humble starters collection contains bottles of Oud Yusuf, Aroha Kyaku, Cambodi Caramel and now Mysore 1984 and Din Dang on the way.

Thanks in advance for everyone who I will surely learn from. J

Wa Alaikum Salam & Welcome to Gaharu !

* Small but precious advice (or request) : Read reviews & buy little samples before you order full bottles.

Wa^alaikumussalaam. ahlan wa sahlan. That's a good start. Din Dang will be a very good addition to your collection. The other 3 ouds are from neighbouring regions, but din dang is all the way from borneo. Plus, it's wild. Your "olfactory librarians" will be busy sorting out information once it arrives!

A very hearty welcome to you! It is great to have you here. We are from all over the world and from diverse backgrounds but out oud journeys have brought us together. You have a great starting collection similar to many in their early days. In fact, I think I started with almost exactly what you have, lol.

Yep, there sure is! London, Birmingham (UK) & Dubai (UAE), with a sporadic Qatar / Singapore thrown in for good measure..... No US OudFest as of yet, due to the insane amount of regulations pertaining to import & export, etc.
