Thank for sharing Philip! I am familiar with your experience. I think the ability to understand and appreciate some of these oils develops over time. It is a strange phenomenon. Some oils you just love right from the start but others not so much. Only to discover later you love them.

My first whiff of Oud Royale 1985 was uninspiring also - but then i wore it and the magic revealed itself.. Probably in my top 10 favorite ouds at this point..

Agreeing with all of you.

I was Oudless all my time in hospital so now having returned and trying those that lay unused for so long is educational.

It seems that only now have I really gotten the hints of black spiced tea and pretty dirtiness on FO OST. A whole other dimension revealed. How I love Oud.
