Tap water contamination and oud oil.

I recently read a worrying article that says much of the world's tap water is contaminated by micro/nano particles of plastic, link is below.
https://www.theguardian.com/environ...s-found-tap-water-around-world-study-reveals/
The article also states that water in natural springs and wells can also be contaminated.
These findings could have serious implications for health but I was also wondering what implications could there be for the distillation of oud and other essential oils?

Interesting for sure. Certainly not a fun read. I don't know. Call me a skeptic at heart. If true, nobody knows if there are any effects on our health, at least not yet. And since these are apparently too small to filter out, we have no choice but to drink.

This is a disgusting state of affairs.

I think that drinking plastic in water and eating plastic in fish quite eclipses it's impact on the distillation of Oud, we should all be extremely concerned of having anything xenochemical in our bodies.

One positive about this situation is that biotech might be able to solve it by engineering bacteria to degrade or eat plastics that are in seawater, however with any biological solution the risks of releasing it into an ecosystem are terrible. Better that all types of plastic packaging should be made from bioplastic, plastic that is intrinsically biodegradable.
