After watching a video by Nikhil concerning Teone Reinthal Natural Perfumes, I finally got on the wagon and ordered some samples. I am a huge fan of mostly/all natural perfumes and will be working my way through ten samples and a solid perfume...all of which on an initial sniff are VERY impressive. Let's find out together if they are just as good on skin. stay tuned ;)

As far as style goes, these sit right in the middle of oriental and western perfumery....maybe a bit more oriental leaning though. They seem to be very concentrated...borderline extrait if not exactly that. She also makes solids and oils. She is based out of AUS and has access to a lot of great materials right at her fingertips and makes a lot of her own perfume materials from local flora. Top quality stuff. Furthermore, she knows Oud and uses it very well in her compositions. case in point, Black Spruce, which I wore today. Notes: Oakmoss, Vietnamese Oud, Black Spruce, Amyris, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Rose Otto, Vetiver, Birch Tar and Ruh Khus. This is a complex foresty fragrance that transforms into a very Oudy fragrance. Folks often assume natural perfumes don't perform well, but that doesn't seem to be the case with her stuff. I've worn two on skin thus far and one lasted about 8 hours (black spruce was 10) and had very nice projection; I could smell myself all day. This was really an incredible fragrance. I need to buy at least a travel size of this.

Interesting house! There are a few perfumes that are applealing based on the notes including Black Spruce. I notice oil versions available as well. Not too sure about the quality of Grandawood Oud though (I'd gladly pay more for a fragrance with a really good mid-level quality wild oud). Another house to check out as we move into the year and I come up for air from my oud oil extravaganza. Lol.

I still have quite a bit of exploring to do in the world of Oud, yet so many perfume houses I haven’t tried either. I need to focus on one at a time...I’m so scatterbrained

Anywho, I wore Nefertum today which was absolutely beautiful and super potent. I haven’t smelled this much blue lotus in a composition before. Add to that, a greatest hits of other notes with a hefty dose of Mysore that doesn’t get overly creamy. This really is a tour of ancient Egypt in a perfume.

Certainly brother. These don't feel as complex as most SPA, but the quality is just as good. The projection seems to be a bit better than SPA since these are EDP format. I also just found out that one of my samples I chose, Arjuna, is a collaboration between her and Nikhil.

I wore Arjuna today. Simple, but it rivals Russian Musk as my favorite citrus blossom scent by far. Just Neroli, Orange Jessamine blossom, Green tea and Mysore Sandal.

A gorgeous citrus blossom bouquet with a gentle backdrop of green tea mimicking the leaves and twigs, without being destructive to the balance like real petitgrain can be. The mysore is barely noticable and just rounds and sweetens the composition as the hours go on. 9+ hours of nice, clear projection. What a beautiful spring/summer scent. I would love to have a bottle.

    Dragonboat today

    Notes: Osmanthus, Honeysuckle, Green Tea

Super simple fragrance. The sweetest, fruitiest floral fragrance I’ve ever experienced. The tea is a light, cooling green touch.

Towards the end of the wear, the sweetness tones down and the almost woodiness of the tea amplifies. It never got overbearing because the sweetness is just like smelling real flowers.

I would imagine someone that loves Osmanthus scented Chinese tea would be nuts about it. I know I am.

    Ritual

Notes: Pink Lotus, Lemon, Tuberose, Tobacco, Sandalwood

Bright, sweet/sour lemon in the opening quickly followed by a beautiful pink lotus/Tuberose combo. High pitched sweet citrusy florals

An hour or two later the smooth brown tones of tobacco show up and balance things out nicely

Finally the slightly salty-buttered woodiness shows up and that dominated in the long drydown.

    Wonderful stuff.

    Irises

Notes: Bergamot, Jasmine Grandiflorum, Virginian Cedarwood, Orris root, Violet leaf, oakmoss, labdanum, patchouli and Mysore sandalwood

This one is like you’re transported back to the 70’s and grabbed a brand spanking new bottle of Bal A Versailles minus the aldehyde and civet. Lots of real Bergamot, Orris butter, and Oakmoss. When my vintage Bal bottle runs out, I’m buying this.
