most aromatic poop ever. made Tibetan size incenses, thin ones, large and small cones.

at first i would compress and compact by using the thicker head syringe a few times. then if you look in the back of the second pic you can see the thinner extrusion. i have found thin/thickness as well as grind size to make a big difference. maybe even more impact than the exact percentage of makko and charcoal. super hard work. too wet like below and during drying the sticks would crack and break, too little and the form wont work and extrusion wouldn't be possible. had to do the syringe a few times to extract excess water and to aerate it for ideal moisture content before drawing the final extrusion.

8ish grams: 50% ceram, 25% bois iris, 8% nha trang anthole, 4% irian noir, 3% mysore sandal, 8% makko, 2% charcoal powder.

lit up one of the thinner inceses the otehr day and again today and if i may so so myself: BAAAM BOOOM. powedery gentle purple sweet smoke. wish i knew how to make it even more perfect. as is little to no acrid notes, softer smoke, but i know it can be further refined. how? without trial and error, i dont know. hope KZ returns my email... any other amateur incense makers who can share their experience?

Time to let the cat out of the bag.

I have no idea if Ensar has more of the red baram wood and how much but you would be strongly encouraged to ask him for some. This is the single most ambiantly aromatic and most spectacular fireworks wood to date. The scent is close to malinau oils. Huge baking spice, honey, flowers and major sweetness. A small sliver on low medium or high heat prodocues phenomenal fumes. I am beyond myself. Tears of joy are bottled up in my eyes. Head whaling in disbelief. We are lucky lucky lucky bastards to have been gifted to be in presence of such beauty. Borneo wood par excellence. I like to think of myself as giving and generous yet somehow despite having 55 gram shows of this single log wood, I can’t part ways with it. The greed in me wants even more. Beat me to it. Seek some out. Hopefully some is there to go around. Otherwise you just have to visit me here in vancouver to test my sanity.

Ceram sinking Is only $4 more than the regular batch but in scent it is 3X5, more concentration, perfume and oomph. Buy as much as you can for I have not seen wood of this profound uniqueness. Sooooo much orris butter. Even some actual iris absolute. It is the very scent of the elusive Oud Royale maluku (ORM). I grabbed 20 grams to add to my previous 50 gram holding, and already thinking I snatch a bit more. Have used 8 grams of it to make an incense stick. Results are pretty sweet actually. But I know it can be done better. How? I still don’t know but I am experimenting. Expensive hobby I had to go and pick. Darn it.

Black baram aka Brunei superior. A gorgeous sinking log sourced via Ensar Oud. The scent is that of real Brunei not general Borneo passsed as one. A sour sweet blue plum note with tons of spices and a savory psychedelic like note. Previously only the old heartwood Brunei sourced with kyara zen and a Chinese friend source showed this note. Others smelled more like windex and cardboard.

    EO Ayoub on wrist
    Kyukyodo Kunshikoh burning in office.
EO Nhatrang Anthole in living room.

I feel as though I could walk around in circles of my home and never get bored. Scent overload.

I have been quite the busy bee, or so I thought a bee.

As per @Simla House: “You’re like a little beaver over there, chewing up wood”. “Should be your handle: Oud beaver”

    Observe:
Bangle is sinking heartwood Papuan via KZ. No ambient aroma. Super small bangle. The wood was yelling to be freed. To allow for its trapped soul to be released. To sing with its fragrant note.

Tiny resin packed sinking nug is ceram.

Red baram is bad ass. Is truffle or ghost pepper in cooking. Tiny tiny bit is enough to take over a dish. Outward party time joyous energizing energy.

Black baram aka Brunei is intellectual. Perplexing scent. Beguiling. Wonderful in a totally different way. Reflective down inward energy.
