hello
Do you think for a mixture Rose otto (or musk) + sandalwood, Dabur is the best thing. thank you
Hi Tarik,

It'd be impossible for me to answer, the result would depend on the quality of all the ingredients, on whether their respective qualities play nice with all other in the blend and of course how skillfully and artfully the blend is executed. And, of course - on what your expectations of the resulting fragrance are.

To me, despite their general lack of "throw" and projection, sandalwoods tend to be tenacious and probably integrate into blends in a more organic fashion when they are moderated or diluted. I also tend to prefer softer, "whiter" if you will, types of sandalwood aroma, and the Dabur leans towards the deeper, darker and woodier part of the spectrum. If dark, woody, resinous kick is what you are looking for as a contribution in a blend, then the Dabur is a suitable candidate, but if you want that transluscent, silky, white creaminess without the oomph, then I'd look elsewhere.

I like the Dabur oil when I have a craving for a strong, incensy sandalwood, so I wear it on cold damp days, sometimes layered with a bit of frankincense or myrrh. I can't think of using it with rose, to me it's too head-strong and full of its own character to play nice with rose, but I must admit that I have absolutely no experience blending my own fragrances, so I could be completely off-mark here and perhaps the Dabur can be softened up by dilution and will perform like a champ - frankly, I have no idea.
