Well guys we have had a crazy year to say the least. I have to admit I have used 2020 to up my oud game somewhat. My favourite discovery of 2020 was guallam no1 ... I was just curious what everyone else’s was?

Tigerwood 1990 was the winner for this year. My flannel jacket lapels are 3 weeks into a few tiny dots of this oil and still going strong. Wearing this oil on skin misses the amazing scent progression but clothing is an entirely different experience.

As recommend by Thomas, I put a swipe on each lapel. Day by day the scent changes and morphs. It’s a rewarding slow burn that showcases multiple profiles, multiple nuances and ultimately a level of sophistication that until now I didn’t know existed. The opening starts with intensely narcotic bitter Agarwood that flows between animalic laced ambergris and jet black leather. It took awhile to pick up the leather association but once it clicked it’s a leather like no other. A brain piercing accord chock full of incense laden ambergris greet an oceanic freshness that makes my head spin. It’s nearly impossible to describe the complexity of this oil in the opening but as it dries down day by day and black pepper spice shows up and the most exquisite low temp sliver of Agarwood makes itself known. I got around 6 feet of projection for the first day or two before calming down to 12-18”. Even now it’s been since Christmas and I’m still getting subtle wafts of peppery oleoresins whenever I stand in direct sunlight. Hands down this is the most challenging and rewarding oil I own.

Tw1990 is definitely an amazing oil with serious lasting power, especially on clothes
