I was just wondering what everyone favorite oil would be

I have smelt quite a few of the best (Ensar and Taha) and then the rest

Here are my three

1. Cambodi - Yusuf (Ensar)

2. Borneo - Jiwa (taha)

3. Hindi - Magoun (Ensar knows about this one) Earth, dark leather, suede, horses, chocolate, barnyard.

Some may say that there are other refined oils out there and I am not that refined etc, but this is what tickled my fancy and mean the most to me when I smell them.

I used to crave Borneos for a long time, but at the moment I am totally obsessed with Oud Yusuf. So I have to say Oud Yusuf is my number one of all time.

I always find it hard to pin down a favorite oil, because each regional profile is so different, and offers something unique. For one, I am partial to Indian oils, as I feel they capture the depth and spirit of Oud in a way no other oils do. In that regard, Oud Mostafa is my favorite. With Cambodian oils, Oud Yusuf is easily a favorite. With Borneo, I haven't spent enough time with Borneo 3000, so I have to say Borneo Kinam is my favorite.

But overall, if I had to choose one Oud that I felt was most all-encompassing and essential, I would have to say Oud Royale No. 1.

There is an element of truth in what both of you have said. However, for reasons known only to the soul there will always be a smell or an oud that will have an effect above and belong any other. This is highly subjective. Each oil plays like a fine tuned instrument. Each nuance and accord and its relative interplay is like fine music to the soul. It's like jumping from one fragrant accord to the next in fragrant bliss. A finely produced oud is like a fine tuned instrument that can be used in spiritual alchemy. Producing different vibrations and resonating differently throughout the body and indeed the body reacts to these resignations. Each oil has a different effect on the body. That's why its used in meditation as it produces desirable effects that help the mediator get 'there' quicker. Maybe the kind of oud one is deeply drawn to reveals hidden truths about that person. Like I mentioned before; I find the smell of a finely crafted Borneo bewitching. There is something about the wetness, woody, jungly , sweet floral smell that effects me in a deep way. It draws me in and I am transported to another place - My childhood perhaps - playing in damp earth, long dry grass?

At the moment I am working in Saudi but am originally from England. I have the same experience I get with Borneos whilst smelling Oud Yusuf. Maybe it's long lost childhood memories of running through English gardens with their myriad smells, sights and sounds that cause me to lose myself in Yusuf. Sadly Saudi is a sterile desert and I crave sensory stimulation here hence I lose myself in Yusuf. Whilst it does not have the immediate effect that Borneos have on me, there is something hidden deep within Yusuf that is just there at the periphery of my 'scent vision' ready to explode but does not. This has me trying to drown in its aura and induce the feeling. I suspect I will never get to that secret and that is the beauty of it all. To get a momentary vision of something greater, more beautiful, more otherworldly. Something hidden for later. All things point to the divine we just need to see the signs. Spiritual alchemy indeed.

Hi Abdullah, It's doesn't open with the "medicinal" Borneo at all it's nothing like Borneo 3000 with the exception, the quality!
It opens not menthol mint It's Iike honey sweet mint with a touch of cinnamon & a tiny touch of vanilla fruit(raspberry?)it all melds together in perfect harmony you can pick each scent out but they don't mash together they drift in & out in tiny waves this went on for about an hour. it all locks in vanilla, honey, cinnamon a little floral, that golden mint is there, they slowly drift along then slowly the wood starts coming through, the best is yet to come, the woody base is superior Quality wood it's the most amazing wood $$ the best, it goes on & on into the night & the next day. I see it's on sale again, I got mine & never regretted it, I almost got a couple, my favorite, Super King Borneo is amazing wood!

I haven't had the chance or luck to try Sultani, did you just get a bottle? That's one oil I really want to work for, something has to drastically change for me before it's sold out though!
