Free Swipes

Hello Ensar!

My friend, I know you cancelled the free swipes, but they are NOT haraam. Why? I will give you an example.

Airmiles. Buy more tickets, get more miles. Seeing as airmiles are NOT haraam, then how are free swipes

haraam when they use the same principle?

P.S.: You probably do know this, but arabian countries are corrupt when it comes to things like fatwas, so I

urge you to bring back the free swipes program.

P.S.S.: I'am a student in highschool so I can't really buy any oud. :(

Could you please send me at least 4-5 0.5 gr samples please!!(please include Kyara de Kalbar)

I will give you my adress if you say yes(and if I'm done settling in):D

Are you serious? You ask Ensar to give 5 0.5g samples for free?
If Ensar does this with everyone he will be bankrupt.
Very suspect post.

It's OK, guys! He sent me this list of questions / requests as a PM, and I asked that he post it publicly so that we could take care of such questions / concerns / requests for all people who ponder them. I have asked Thomas to draft a reply to OudFreak, which should be posted shortly.

Of course, it would be great if we could hand out samples to everybody, but yes… we’d be out of business in a day. Gotta hand it to Oud Freak for trying, though :) If I had found out about oud in high school, I would probably have spent my summers interning somewhere, and the money I earned would certainly not have gone towards my college fund!

After discontinuing the Free Swipes program, we did keep the privileges that came with the promotion in mind with our new releases. Take the Kalbar 3000 Gift Set, for example. Instead of store credit worth 10% of the oil’s price towards a free bottle of oud, we’re offering a gift worth more than 10% of the value of the purchase. So, instead of credit which cannot be redeemed as a cash discount, you get a tangible something-extra, without being required to make another purchase or two or three. In this case, you get some of the finest oud chips directly, for you to burn, for free.

Another example is that we intended to launch the Oud Mostafa Experiment at a higher price than it’s currently on offer for. And I’m not just saying this :)… there were some who knew about the experiment before its release, and the price we quoted was more than 10% higher than what it is now. Don’t worry, nobody walked away paying more that what they would have now ;)

Also, for instance, if you were to get three Vintage LTD oils now (at full price, paid upfront), instead of having to accumulate Swipes, you’ll immediately qualify for a free bottle of your choice from a selection of our organic oils - Oud Yusuf, Oud Yusha, Encens d'Angkor, or Crassna Cha (include Assam Organic if one of the three LTDs is Kalbar 3000).

Thanks for the draft Thomas!

P.S.: Ensar, could you please just send me one sample of Kyara de Klabar?(You don't lose money because it isn't for sale, you only lose oil).:D

Thanks!

P.S.S.: You guys didn;t tell me why you didn't bring back free swipes. Please specify. After all, I already gave an example of why they are NOT haraam, so please answer the question.

It's not really politically correct to be asking for samples for free, mainly because the cost of oils is very high. Everyone would love free samples. I myself am new to the oudh business , and I haven't gotten the chance to test any real oudh oil yet, I am documenting myself prior to buying something, even if it's just samples.
Look, if we all brainstorm we could find dozens of other examples, but that's not the point . Put yourself in Ensar's place. Would you feel comfortable if people would start off by demanding oil giveaway , even for testing purposes. I suggest saving money and getting the samples set. I also received the same reccomendation when asked what to start out with. This is a really nice forum and members are very helpful.

Cheers

Don't you think I would love for Ensar to send me "samples" on all his oils currently on sale and of past Limited Editions..?
Everyone would like that, but it's not possible.
As Thomas said, they would go out of business in a single day!
It's like going in an electrics store asking for a free computer, saying you will buy one later.
You seem like a spoiled brat, you asked once, then had the nerve to ask again.
"No" means no.

KAKAO, why do you think have I have acted like a spoiled brat?

There are a few reasons why I asked once more.

1. I go to high school, and I cannot get a job to buy anything expensive.

2. The thing that Allah has made me love the most is itr(fragrance), but only the natural stuff.(which is mostly expensive)

3. I only asked for one sample of one oil.(Which Ensar has a large amount of as it wasn't available for very long)

P.S.: Ensar, could you please add a sample the first time I buy something from you?(As you have done for some other people) Thanks!:D

Dear OudFreak, I am not going to start by telling you that it is just bad decorum to have your first posts be about asking for free samples. This forum is to exchange ideas and experiences and to learn new things from each others so please observe those unwritten rules. It is also in bad taste to start disparaging people without proof such as your statement
P.S.: You probably do know this, but arabian countries are corrupt when it comes to things like fatwas
Additionally, those samples you are talking about are so small that sometimes there is nothing in the vial but you can smell the oil clearly and it is meant for you to make up your mind and to give you some idea how an oil will smell like prior to purchase. they are not meant so that you can wear them 2 or 3 times. There is just simply not enough.
You are still in High School so you can use some advice from an elder. I advice you to equip yourself with patience. save your stipends and when you have enough start bu purchasing the lesser expensive ones. You can get decent and natural oils between $100 to $150 for a 1/4 tola. And when you have enough money and can graduate to the more expensive stuff you will have greater appreciation for it because you would have had to work hard for it and you would have known what the lesser quality smells like. If you have to ask someone to give you something for free then it is not for free. People will give you when they feel like giving. If you are just into getting free samples you should check he has offers like buy 1 get 1 free and gives a lot of free samples with your order. Peace.

Thank you for the advice masstika!

I'm sorry, but I cannot follow your second piece of advice! I want to start with oriscent so that I won't have anything to miss or compare it to.

Also, I didn't say that without having something to back it up. My dad told me about it and he said that you CAN find books on the subject.(thought I don't know any)

Take Saudi Arabia as the prime example. Some of the people are Wahhab, thus going to the extreme in religion. The other Arabian countries and muslim countries besides(like Pakistan) have constant protests and displays of violence, clearly meaning that something is wrong with the states' appliance in religious matters.

If you want Ensar Oud you're just gonna have to save up, simple as that.
That's what I did, I'm not wealthy at all, but having a high-quality oud meant so much to me I gave up other luxuries to afford it.
Try eating a little cheaper (ie: make your own food, bread, jams, dinners you name it, don't order take-aways or pizzas), avoid clothes that are expensive just because they have a brand on them and don't buy the new 600 dollars iPhone.
The list goes on and on.
You wont get anything in this life for free, you're gonna have to work for it and save for it.

Thanks for the advice, KAKAO. Also, to show that I have no hard feelings about your other post, I'll offer you some musk grain. I think it is of Russian(farmed) origins. I just need someone to verify that it is pure, and I will PM you when sure. Than you can PM me your adress and how you want me to send it to you.:)

Thank you for the offer, but I don't know much about musk, having never smelled it pure.
Also I don't give my adress to random people online.
But how can you afford musk grains and not oud?

#16
From one High school student to another: The important thing to do is prioritize. If (after some self exploration) you really find that oud will be a passion for you, and not just a passing interest, then have the patience to save as much as possible. I bought Encens d'Angkor as a starting point to get me accustomed to oud. I am not sure of Part time work laws in Turkey, but if possible I would suggest getting a summer job. The experience is invaluable, and the rewards are great. I am planning on working through senior year, and after graduation I will purchase my second oud oil from Ensar. Hopefully, one of his Vintage LTD's! Let me know how things work out.

To Connor: It isn't about the laws in Turkey. I can't get permission to work until university.

To KAKAO: I can afford a musk pod because there is a guy selling it for 100 lira a pod in the spice bazaar.(my dad got it for me)
1USD=1.8Lira So the cheapest bottle of oud is 250x1.8= 450 Liras!
