Dear all,

This is a little thread I am starting to moun and commerate the lost Ouds.

Ouds we have tried, sampled, and wanted more of only to discover to our dismay that the hand of time was against us and it was all sold out.

Feel free to list what you missed recently and why you miss them so.

Dr. Hindi.

I thought I was keeping a really close eye on it, there were two whole tolas left plus 3ml bottles and then overnight all vanished in a puff of digital smoke.

I will really miss it's astonishing cherrywood tobacco barn as well as it's relaxing and intimate effects.

Most recent is Adam's Vietnamese wood batches. I PM'd him an order for the first batch and it was gone. He told me about the coming of the second batch and by the time I saw it posted here, it was gone. It was such a primo deal that I have a sneaky suspicion Adam bought it all himself:D
A couple of the oils I missed out on were the original Thaqeel and Kalakassi, I really wanted to see what all the hype was about.

Yes I was also. I just saw a few available yesterday. What happened? It was such a good deal also. I just didn't have the $$ to buy it but was planning on getting a bottle in a few weeks. Well I guess that happens in the Oud world. One minute it's there and the next gone with the wind. Don't worry Sir Robert, your patience will be rewarded. LoL @PEARL on Adam buying it all hahaha.

Aroha Kyaku 2011/2012(1st batch)

For me this oil represents the life and death of my dear friend Scarecrow and Sister Kiki. February 5th 2012 Scarecrow passed on and a month later March 3rd 2012 my sister passed on so for me this oil is like them 2011/2012 they were with us and gone with the wind next time you wake up. This also was the first oud oil that i have ever tried.
John, the first Oud I ever tried was Aroha Kyaku as well, given it's character I think it would be a beautiful if mournful one to remember them by.

If you no longer have any, PM me please.

@PEARL I too have missed out on Thaqeel and I would do anything to get my hands on some just to see what all the fuss was about. Regarding the Kalakassi, however, I think @Oudamberlove has a sample of the PRE-reformulated stuff if I am not mistaken. I have been contemplating getting myself a sample...

I got the pre-reformulation Kalakassi 80 yr from TWIS. I'm sure the original Famous Kalakassi was batches way before the TWIS stuff. If it was one of the very early batches, I could probably smell a big difference. Nowadays the percentage of 80 yr aged oud in Kalakassi is less than 5%. I don't think that there's much of those older batches of Thaqeel and Kalakassi in the collection of Oud Lovers nowadays because I haven't read any detailed reviews of them in the Forums.

This is a beautiful idea.
Heartfelt love, and remembrance for the creations that have brought joy into our lives.
So many have already written such fine reviews for their favourite oudhs, this is a further place to reminisce while listening to ghazals.....
As I am rather new to the experience of artisanal oudh, I can only stand by and observe your lamentations.
Me and my pile of Assamese oudh have been knocked off our perch.
The only thing I can add at this point is my sadness for missing Dhul Q, which I missed by a mere few hours.
Really gorgeous, and exactly what I needed in my life at the moment.
I am treasuring the wee remnants.

It takes courage to use the last drop of a beloved oud. With Oud Sultani, I stuck a cotton Qtip into the sample vial to soak-up that last drop, then I would pull the Qtip out, have a sniff, then stick it back in. I did this every night for about a month, till I finally had to call the pallbearers:(

For me it has to be Sultans Solace by Agar Aura. Boy what an chance I missed not to have grabbed a bottle! Quite odd that not many people ever talk about this one? Is it because not many have tried the oil or am I just overly obsessed with this one. Any Oud talk I ever have with people, that always starts to conversation. Interestingly there is his next of kin coming soon, need to grab some...

I think that a Gulf Coast royal was enchanted by this and bought it all, basically.

I will coin a phrase here.... "doing a DH"

Just as someone bought all MY Dr. Hindi.

In all fairness, I did laud somewhat here so it's a self-inflicted wound.
