O.A.D.

Ok everyone. So a necessary self reflection was in order as a new year approaches very rapidly. There are many reasons to be very grateful but this is an oud forum so I won't elaborate those here.

From the perspective of Oud, I have experienced some amazing oils which have added to my life in many ways. I have made some new friends which for sure have also enriched my life. BUT......, I do have to acknowledge that I probably suffer from a hereto un-named malady: O.A.D. - Oud Acquisition Disorder. Yep, and given some of my friends here, I think it's more widespread than previously recognized. Can you hear me bhanny, taher, 5meO, oudjoy, and the rest of you?
Don't be surprised if it ends up being in the DSM5 in the near future. Too early to tell what the implications of this problem may be, apart from the obvious dwindling bank accounts, but it is clear that treatments so far have been ineffective.
Sometimes acceptance is the first step toward recovery?

Naw.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great, prosperous, and healthy new year!

Ah I am afraid I have a much more serious condition than O.A.D. In Oudamberlove's own word, I too am a Scent Junkie and like to collect all stuff with unique scent and smell ranging from Kyara, musk, sandalwood, ambergris and of course Oud. :)

I have a very serious S.A.D (Scent Acquisition Disorder) medical condition! :p

May everyone have a scentful 2017!

I want to use this opportunity to publicly thank Kesiro for having the courage to come forward in such a forthright manner - he knows as well as anyone the irreparable damage such disclosure could have on his reputation, professional and otherwise. Bravo my friend!

I will admit that I too have this disorder, though I think I manage it better than people like Bhanny (who appears to have let himself go completely).. I am also seeking help for the disorder, unlike people like Oud_Learner, who appear to enjoy or even revel in their illness.

Jensz just joined the forum also, and I think everyone should know that she has a very serious case of O.A.D., one of the worst cases I have ever seen, actually. I have traded oud with her on several occasions, and while she is one of the most upstanding and kind people I have ever traded with, I can say with 100% certainty that she is in the grip of a very serious ouddiction - and may have done terrible and regrettable things to get more...

Ah, well, things could be far worse for us.. I'll take this over a crack or gambling habit, that is for sure..

Happy New Year everyone - we are fortunate souls!

Yes 5MeO. Things have taken a turn for the worse here. My affliction profound. On a desperate attempt to restore some form of sanity, I paid a visit to Dr Kai Nam, arguably the foremost expert in oud related psychiatric disorders. Laying on his couch, deep into free association, "purple...kinam, yunnan...exclusive, 3000...Borneo, Port...Moresby", all of a sudden my vision tunnels and I go totally out. I wake up, smelling amazing of course, strapped to a guerney with my head swimming with the remnants of Dr Nam's potent sedative. No memory of the maniacal and frenzied sample swiping that had taken place just moments before.

The diagnosis? O.I.P. Oud Induced Psychosis. There is apparently a gene on the short arm of chromosome 6 that when mutated in a specific fashion, basically seen in 1:100000 caucasian men of mixed Irish, Scottish, English and American Indian descent, produces a unique but typical response when the individual is exposed to high quality pure oud. The response is a pure and true psychotic break.

Dr Kai Nam's groundbreaking research has led to only one possible treatment option. Supersaturating and overwhelming the olfactory system, specifically that abnormal oud response center. I'd like to personally thank this group and especially the vendors for providing so many oils to make my treatment possible. Together we can beat O.I.P!!!

I think they're working on some GMO (Genetically Modified Oud) right now which can cure us. Plantation Trees just 1 year old, with lots of Seah, 10x more complex than a bicentennial tree, $35/tola shipping included.

That's incredibly refreshing to hear. Glad we have not been forgotten.
