Agarwood Indonesia Candan Evo. Aq Hirta. Opens like a meroke. Has the papuan signature. But the weather was quite overwhelming so I topped it up with Hindi Oud from Nagaland. Feeling at home.

Today was an oil extravaganza. The day stared with attars: Sultan Leather Attar and Mulan Jinko. Both are just fantastic.
The evening brought out some FO oils: Royal Bengal and KoDo Extreme. Was a fun day.
Spoken like a true lover of oud :)

Malay Encens today, heated several types of chips this evening, and now I'm sporting 2 different Sandalwood Oils to take me off, to lala-land

Wow! 1955
Imagine the wood used back then:confused::confused::confused:
Must have been pure Incense grade from old growth trees.:)
One thing I have finally learnt is to take the stories with a pinch of salt and simply enjoy the products. Lol. What other option do I have ? 55 to me seems too much. But I could be wrong. But the oil is beautiful. I also got their Kalakassi and Oud distilled in Taifi Hydrosol. Taifi s Oud is regular cambodia plantation sweet wood smellwise but nice concept :). These 2 oils are royal. Utlrasmooth yet traditional so the complex aroma is maintained. And the texture is very fine. I was skeptical to be frank. But the oils speak. After collecting all Aquilaria Profiles and studying them I can say I will stick to fine Hindi, Chinese, Burmese and Cambodi oils only. But, as stated quite clearly by Ensar Bhai, and with which I agree a good old Cambodi is once in a lifetime opportunity. And I am happy with I have got. Cheers

Khmer Special K. I don't know what to say other then this oil is epic. Way closer in profile to Vietnamese Oud then anything from Cambodia I ever tried. A bitter medicinal base with sweet green Kinam shining through. I would have never ever imagined you can get a Cambodi to smell like this.
This and Chiem Po Chai are far and away my favorite Cambodi's. And neither of them smell like cambodi oud, lol.

Chugoku Senkoh again this morning. This type of Oudh can only be dreamed about until one encounters it. Let the Eid vibe keep going. I only took out 2 drops of this beast and put it in a small vile. I knew this would happen @Ensar and I was afraid of using it all up. Well I closed the bottle up and who knows when I will open it up again. Simply mind blowing or rather mind altering stuff.

Darul Aman (AA) today to start my day off. This one has the unmistakable Malaysian DNA but the bittersweet kinam notes fool you momentarily into thinking its something else. A rare oil from somebody I consider a Master.

Got a chance to try out some Attars today from brother Taha. Lubani, Cusano, and Kinam Attar. The Lubani is daaaayuuuuummm! If this is not the best smelling frankincense on the planet then I don't know what is. Supposedly this is a black frankincense resin that was melted into oud. It's mind numbingly incredible.
The Kinam attar is extremely interesting. It is not Kinam but does a good job of incorporating the Kinam notes into a blend. What makes it so cool is that it mostly becomes an oud scent which evolves over hours from Cambodi al the way to Sri Lankan. I am told there are 5 different ouds in it and I have no reason to doubt this. To me this is basically a high quality oud oil.
Cusano is another extremely oud heavy scent, and not the lighter more ethereal kind. It has a lot of dark animalic Hindi oud notes, as well as dark tobacco and smoke. Totally awesome.
For an oud lover, these can go easily into a wear rotation and leave nothing to want. Really masterfully blended.

The attars Ensar and Taha are putting out now are nothing short of stunning. The fact that absolutely nothing synthetic was used is a huge deal for me as well.

Well I tried @Nikhil S, and it didn't work for me. I was once an oud "genre separatist" an oud "region elitist", self professed. I exalted certain regions, forsaking and banishing all others but it didn't work for me. Don't get me wrong now, Hindi oils and oils done well in Hindi style will always have a special place with me, but it's more. I tried to break it down to Hindi/Burmese oils, Hindi/Chinese oils and Hindi/Cambodian(try Ensar's K if you get a chance, fan-friggin-tastic) oils where those oils from their respective regions still had some Hindi type features, but it didn't work out for me.

Variety is the spice of life; although at times I still won't sample certain oils because of my self imposed "region exaltation"(I'm daft, it's more common than most think, daftness that is). I'm working on it though and when I do allow myself to take in those oils that I've shunned, I realize that there are so many stupendous and "atypical for their region oils' that upset the apple cart. Fantastic oils like Imperial Oud's Adhirãjya with it's crisp apple, rich multilayered vanillic and the only thing I can think of closest is a Borneo on a Nandrolone blossom features scatter my brain. Ultimately ridiculous oils like Ensar's extraterrestrial Sultan Sufyan with it's psychedelic purple-blue-black note hue and medicinal caricature span the border between genius and insanity. Oils like Ensar's Yusuf and Adam's Borai Choco Extreme show us that there's so much than just the typical Thai tea(what did I just do to myself, now I'm thinking about riding over to Lotus Restaurant for a boba green tea). Even when it comes to my Hindi oils, the ones I have are not normal. They are veritable hotheads, extremists and nonconformists. So for me it's not about the region so much anymore, it's about what I find to be the best. From now on if anybody asks me about any oil that I have in my arsenal and where it's from or what genre, I'm going to tell them, "it's from the best, best genre".

YSL's M7 vintage, all red bottle used to be one of my favorites and miraculously one synth that did not give me a thudding headache. I happened to be wearing it one day when a friend in dire need asked me if I could help her move, I learned two things that day that I will not repeat. 1. I will not wear M7 on a hot day and be active because when it activates it will suffocate you. 2. I will not help anyone, not even myself and family, move; won't do it and sorry don't ask. But, if I like you like that and I'm able I might help you pay for somebody else to help you, might. Otherwise you're SOL, I guess I could come out and watch but that wouldn't be any help.
