I agree with your first post. Great description brother.

Sadly, beg to disagree without the second one. Sri Lankan is Bonafide Walla. Same thing. Same performance. Cheers.
Man I have no idea what are you talking about?? They are totally different oils scent wise and I'm not talking about the quality.

Well let's not talk about the difference in quality.

Not for the newbies....

Rightly said man. Newbies. Does it smell like warnished wood, covered with chocolate flavoured rice, served with mushroom flavoured ice cream with a hint of 24 carat gold flakes soaked in a tincture of half smoked cigar which has been aging inside a 100yr old oak barrel over which a hulky man is sitting farting after steak and wine ? I thinking Sri Lankan Artisan smells like this ! Horrible oil right ?

Don’t be fooled by the “organic” or “price point”
This IS Top Shelf stuff!!
Just compare the array of notes inherent in this distillation to other ouds of a similar genre.

Or.........is it just me??
........and my preference??

Either way, its a win win:D

The more we talk about ORSL, the more curiosity arises, better it's sales, more action on the forum. Either way WIN-WIN for Ensar Bhai. Price lowering at the current rate will definitely get us a Kinam or Sultani or Royale at 90USD/3ml ! Ensar will become a household name. WIN-WIN again....victory of the People, by the people, for the people.

On that note, can you write a few negative posts about Sultan Abdüs Selam? :p

Swiped Sultan Luqman (New Guinea/Sumatra)

Took in the vapors at 5 inches away.

Sumatran Malaccensis style sweet fruits with a rounded creaminess, a dash of pepper, some wood.
I listened intently until the opening gave way to the heart.

Coming in closer for the scent.

The blue green ocean started seeping in just like the tide, while still displaying the opening notes.

On the way to the base, more and more of the blue green ocean, stronger, some incense, oudiness, and still dancing with the fruity sweetness.

The oil keeps giving and giving.

Picture the New Guinea element as the Trellis, and the Sumatran Malaccensis as the vine which keeps weaving in and out of the Trellis and blooms with the sweet unique fruit aroma.

The notes are balanced, so this is not a fruity oud by any means. Think of this oil as all the goodness that gets cooked away in a traditional old school set-up:p:p:p

Know what Ammar brother. I did double swipes of SL Artisan last night and did realise the drydown is not at all similar. The Artisan fades too quickly. The choice of wood is pretty evident to my nose now. I may have been quick to judge ORSL afterall. But I did mention that 2 days back inu OAL's reply. Some oils do twist our ears, some after days, some take months and some even more than that. And I never hold back my emotions for an oil. Let the oil speak for itself the oldies say. They don't try to run you down for not understanding an oil. Did Ensar defend his oil ? Thats why we call him the Master.

What,,,Exactly,,,is inside Ensar’s Vault??
That’s the Million Dollar Question:D:D:D

Here’s a Clue.........
Harry Winston mines them from the Earth,
Ensar distills them from Trees.

The Answer...........
Gems! my friend.......plenty of gems:eek:

But really............
The inside of that Vault qualifies to be the Ninth Wonder of the World!! IMOO (in my olfactive opinion)

I'm late to the Sri Lankan party, guys. I hope that will change very soon. All this talk of ORSL is killing me (but please do carry on).
For now, my bedtime SOTD is OS90. My brain just cannot comprehend how I genuinely dislike Marokes, but yet I love and love and love OS90 ever so deeply.
Too much cognitive dissonance :eek::eek:
I am in similar shoes as you. I don’t dislike them as much as you except if they are like the likes of emerald or xll in their current aging curve but Sultani 1990 is different beast. Tamed down. More open knit. Lacks that crude oil diesel note. Inviting and finessed.

Scent of day China sayang

Along with EO hainan is one of very few chinese oils I can bring myself to wear here and there. I still don’t love em but I certainly appreciate their uniqueness and their complexity.

Planning on a big oil for tonight. Thinking between syed ascent, kinamantan or port moresbey. Will report back which one comes out to play.
